Amongst the many questions never asked of these baseless defences of Bruce If Bruce's former club can beat Arsenal 3-0 and Liverpool 7-2 in their 2nd season back in the Premier League, how come Bruce's current club in their 4th season in the Premier League can't manage that many shots against anybody and can only dream of doing the same. I'm sure, as ever, it will be something to do with expectation of fans to which I'd like also to ask 'how does expectation of fans make a team play so negatively and be so distinctly second best in most games?' telekenetic powers presumably.

Southampton 2-0 Newcastle United - 06/11/2020 - post match from pg18

Is he being sarcastic though ? when are we good? Slightly the better of two poor teams in a poor game is all I've seen this season and for most of last. -
Here's me thinking we'll either play abysmally and nick something or play abysmally and get well beaten. Just the usual outlook you have when you've made a good start under a top manager.
-
I think that's fair enough but c**titude is so subjective. Each to their own but I prefer the up front c**t stylings of Pardew to the undercover 'nice guy' sly snide c**t style of Bruce.

Nobody has produced this many abysmal performances and nowhere near as consistently in my time. There was the occasional good game/strong performance under Souness, McLaren, Pardew and the occasional bad one under Keegan and quite a lot under Sir Bobby but the consistency of Bruce's performances astonishes me. The best he's produced is slightly edging an awfully average game yet still albeit not in stats terms. Souness (Liverpool finished 2nd in a bad year for 20years - enter Souness) < hated Bruce / Carver < hate/hated McLaren Dalglish (WTF was he doing here but at least won stuff elsewhere (albeit he should have) Allardyce (sick football but at least purposely produced it) < hated Gullit Pardew Kinnear (did great at Wimbledon)

Different kind of Arab but still proportionally there ought to have been some noise from all those virtuous saints who were so offended by the idea we'd be bought - since the reason was supposed to be on moral grounds.I'm sure they could find some there if they wished to. Can only presume not a single one of those protesting the NUFC takeover will be involved in, watch or report on the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

I remember Zejlko Petrovic for no other reason than the PSV fans were singing a chant towards him "Zejlko (something), Zejlko (something), Zejlko, Zejlko, Zejlko (something)" - I'm guessing whatever is Dutch for thankyou cos it was the "Merci Laurent, Merci Laurent" chant. It added to the overall monotony of the closing stages of a killed off game/CL season that seemed to drag on forever. Was his last game before going to Japan is why. Also re Nilis, every time I see stuff from him I think what a good hand he was. Just going through some old DVDs and saw a lovely goal for Anderlecht at (Rapid?!) Vienna in Europe a CL qualifier in 91/92 I believe, scored a hat-trick but the first goal was a delight, dodgy picture and the round-up is in Italian but wondered "bet that was Nilis" so it was. He had class.

How's Villa getting on since they got rid of Bruce? Have they looked back yet? if Bruce is doing such a great job, how would they describe the job Dean Smith has done!?!?
-
They’ll get Marseille right up in the faces of PSG. Hope they dominate them for decades to come. BeIn(g c**ts) have the rights to the MENA region for Ligue Une. All the same problems should apply as applied here. Then you've Qatar/Bein owning PSG. So the heat from that end ought to be even more than we got. The only difference will be whether the people at the French equivalent of the PL are pre-disposed to passing it or not. Maybe they'll be more interested in improving and growing their league and making it competitive than the QPL was.

^ yes. The really low quality of punditry and obvious lack of research (its only their extremely easy job after all) they do, is definitely the number one annoyance of late. This habit of starting an answer, response with "listen". I found Chris Waddle doing it a lot and sure enough Bruce does it regularly to. Seems overly aggressive initially but probably just ignorant and only rude via that. Think this stems from De Niro on Casino about to beast Sharon Stone "listen to me (thumps desk), listen to me you f**king c**t"

Aye. He'll be here when things start to pick back up and will hardly be a willing seller then, far more likely he'll stick around a while longer to claw back what's been lost. We've gone back to 2009 and what followed that will follow this. Was scarcely interested during that time. Can eff right off if I'm investing in any way in the next era.

Mackemesque bitterness. That's the future tag-line for the energy drink
-
Looks like you can buy them online. But who buys energy drinks online? Seems like it looks and tastes like a Red Bull knockoff, so just get a bottle of Blue Bear from Spar. Looks like they keep getting sued for ripping off other people's logos as well. Like others have said, he's the perfect fit. Their club badge, changed in 1997, is so familiar to another north-east club badge that its uncanny

At this point that boils down to who is more likely to take legal action Ashley or Bein. I've seen this mentioned a few times in here, and I'm a bit confused by it. This is a genuine question, not trying to be a knob or anything but what legal grounds would Bein have to sue the Premier League? I mean obviously they're going to be p*ssed off as rightly or wrongly they blame Saudi for pirating their rights. And clearly they're going to be very shitty with the PL and possibly threaten to bid less money next time the rights are up for grabs or maybe even withold agreed payments for next season. But if the bid passed the O&D test as published and the takeover was approved, is there any legal basis for Bein to try to take action vs the PL? I’m no legal expert but seems common consensus that Bein have legal teams ready. The telegraph and Liam Kennedy has mentioned this tonight, I can only assume they’ll come after the Premier League as the rights holder for their loss of earnings. Apparently Serie A has reimbursed a large sum to bein sports, after the Italian FA agreed to hold a cup game in Saudi Arabia. I guess they’d see it as the PL becoming complicit with the piracy by allowing the Saudis into the league, I’m unsure myself how that argument would stack up legally. Italian's do it better.

Sat a few rows in front of Frank Worthington in the away end at Blackburn in 93/94, David Kelly in the away end at Coventry the same season - and bottled going up to meet him like a nervous school-kd on their crush. Saw plenty of our players in the bars and clubs and stuff but that's not uncommon and doesn't feel important. Likewise during my time on the mackems books re their players, staff, former players and indeed the owner one time - except one day I was sitting leafing through one of their magazines or books in the office feeling chavvy waiting there with training kit on when Ian Brantfoot, formerly Southampton manager, just wandered into the office briefly and I was a bit starstruck because that was my era and you don't expect former Southampton managers to pop up right beside you unheralded as if meandering in off the streets. Has anybody got a less impressive case of being starstruck?

Its kind of embarrassing for what this club has become to be associated with him. Honestly he's way too good for that. I loved how when Keegan came back with Man City the "there's only one Kevin Keegan" chant organically changed into "there's only one Bobby Robson" The pair of them.

Not a bad shout. Aye. Used to push for this a lot but not in a position to do anything. Certainly in regards Rangers and our owner. But to contact Blackpool, Bolton etc. and pledge a bloc of support even if just numbers and signatures for such things. Lot harder to ignore numbers that that could create. Just ourselves and Rangers should have been 100k off the bat

That's it. We, well I know I am the type of person that takes the 3points if we win but worries about it if we were very lucky and played badly against a poor team - that it doesn't bode well, and that's the situation were in as a club. They predominantly seem to revel in a win no matter how its achieved and everything is rosy, none of the indicators matter and likewise with a defeat. There's such a thing as foresight and the bigger picture and a multitude of sayings to that extent. I would rather not drop to their level before we are allowed to complain. Also the 'two rights DO make a wrong' arguement!! what can you say. As long as were not them or Bury we (and no other PL or championship club) have justification for complaint, no matter what is done to us?! Well Bury aren't Gretna or Scarborough so maybe they should thank their lucky stars by that arguement and at least the mackems are still in the football league.
-
Similar. I wasn't thinking about trophies. So when mackems or whoever would say we can't do a Man City because of FFP or that the consortium wanted to make money not spend it - it didn't bother me, just wanted to able to enjoy the club again and revel in knowing it was trying to move forward and grow. Unbelievable that that's all almost any of us are asking for and its denied us.

I've already adhered to the vow never to go back whilst Ashley is there which has been very easy (exception of Harper's testimonial) and apart from Bournemouth away this year can't remember that last time I watched a PL game live, involving us or anyone else. Don't listen on the radio - because people going on as if this is a normal club is to trainspotty for me. Maybe having flashscores on in the background is what I've been reduced to. At best that's the way it will remain. Despite never having more money than through the Ashley era (though zero income now courtesy of the pandemic) and never having less to do on a Saturday. Speaking as a glory hunter like. Started going when we were bottom of Division One, first full season was the play-off season, second the drabbed pre-Ashley season and lowest average attendence in club history and the third our lowest ever finish fighting relegation to the 3rd tier. Stopped going/caring under Ashley and as it happens the only two seasons that were even remotely tempting in terms of returning or interesting were the two in the championships.

PL officials were just representing the interests of their other member clubs, and obviously felt that an NUFC with such powerful backing was not good for those other clubs. Although they were never going to openly say it. or the simpler non conspiracy theory explanation they were worried about future tv deals from bein with regards to the beoutq issue. Is there any way you can get BeOUTQ in the UK? I'm planning on quitting subsidising Sky and other leading PL clubs, so will happily contribute to piracy if there's a way of doing it. That's just the frame of mind I'm in. Don't even want to watch but do want to contribute to BeOUTQ. Even if it subsides I'm hardly likely to pay Sky and the other PL clubs. Be like paying for my own assassin.

Distraught he f***ed himself over hopefully greedy c*** I doubt he's bothered to reflect on his own contributions. He'll be raging at all the other parties. Currently plotting his revenge, which will involve taking every opportunity to damage the reputation of the PL every time NUFC appear on global TV. A good one would be to employ an embarrassing ar*ehole as manager and have him play the most turgid depressing football known to man with a clown of a record signing in a morgue of an atmosphere.
