Backup for Wilson until the summer, not ideal but heaps more of an issue on Burnley and potentially helps us overtake them - could be tactical as much as anything (albeit a rather expensive tactic at £20m! In the grand scheme of things, we've been creating multiple chances of late, just not had an out and out striker to put them away, if this helps that and edges us closer to staying up this season then so be it, we can hit up proper targets in the summer if we're safe. I just hope that it's enough, some of the bigger signings that we thought we'd get seem to be struggling which just goes to show how difficult this window really is, no matter how much money we have.

Absolutely the worse time for this to happen, now there's doubts over everything, even the manager. Any momentum that was building up from potential new signings will now have changed to sheer desperation. Regardless of not needing a cup run, the embarrassment of being gubbed by a league one team, even if their goal shouldn't have stood, it'll be so damaging to us going into the second half of the season and trying to prevent a damn near inevitable relegation. If nothing else I still think the Cambridge goal shouldn't have stood, regardless of if it touched Shelvey, they had three players offside when the ball was struck forward.

The lack of strikers is what's showing for us today, that and maybe a bit of the team being unsettled from all the transfer speculation, none of them know if they'll be keeping their places with all the names linked.
