The thing that's baffling me the most at the moment is that Ben White doesn't seem to be in anyone's teams despite his returns for an extra .5 million being massive and pretty much in 7.5 to 8.5m midfielder territory for the last 2 seasons.

Trying to work this out when Brighton's opening fixtures are absolutely shocking until about November.

I personally thought he'd be around £50m when we were first linked like. He is fringe but he's played a canny bit, 22 years old, English player tax, and they paid £28m for him. Getting him for £28m would be a bargain and sounds unrealistic, £60m+ is just silly and also unrealistic imo.

If it's what's being reported then that will surely do it unless Palace are stringing us along.

If he goes that would be when you take him out I think. He immediately becomes a rotation risk and is no longer on pens, free kicks and corners. In that scenario you'd probably even be better off choosing Bernardo Silva at £6.5m

Perreira is always a good shout, just not sure about that opening game for him. Still unsure on whether to risk Lewis Hall as well. I think he'll start but you what Howe's like. I'm thinking Hall and Perreira/Minteh/ whoever, or another more likely starter like Konsa or Anderson, with Jacob Murphy as the 5.5

Howe alluded to something like this in a recent interview. That at elite level the pool of players you look at is pretty small.

I've grown to 'get' Gallagher like. Longstaff under Howe has shown me that you can have a pretty poor season but still bag yourself 8 goals in that role. So in that respect I get Howe's fetish for seemingly underwhelming players like Gallagher and McTominay.
