Good example of him doing the right thing and being let down by the positioning of Gordon I think. Tbf, Elanga's been the same when Gordon’s put in very good balls too. Gordon used to be great at getting to the mid to back post as well, but he seems to gravitate more towards pull backs now. He does it here and you can see from where Elanga has to play it from and where Woltemade is, that even though he's pulled two defenders with him, it's never on. I'm convinced they'll work it out though.

We'll see. The consensus was that Moyes was too, all it takes is the right job. No doubt that Rafa's had a series of bad ones and probably needs to be more flexible if he's ever going to turn it around though.

Think Rafa would do just fine in the right set of circumstances tbh, but those set of circumstances are already quite out of keeping with how football clubs operate these days, never mind how badly suited he'd be to working under Marinakis.

Totally. Just saying that his achievements for us can be looked past with the same mindset as mine, basically. Particularly when there are outstanding alternatives.

I used this expression with how I felt about our transfer window despite the whole Isak thing, but it applies to Isak's career here as a whole now for me. "But apart from that how was the play Mrs Lincoln?" It ruined everything, nothing about him and his time here is viewed positively anymore because what happened was so massive and destructive. It can't be put to one side. I don't think he'd be a top 3 transfer for me anyway tbh, Trippier and Bruno are non-negotiable for me.

Tbf to both Elanga and Gordon, how many times this season have you seen them put a ball in only for there to be no one there and you think to yourself "that's a really good ball tbf"? I can think of about 5. Elanga should easily have had a couple of assists from some of the balls that have actually made it to players as well.

I was sort of wrong anyway, but my post had nothing to do with his quality tbf. It was because we were going in for him after his Como deal fell through and Allegri wanted to keep him.

What baffles me more than anything is that no matter who the ref or the opposition is, Ryan Yates gets away with being an absolute thug game after game. I mean we have Joelinton, but he's a walking yellow card, Yates is much more of a snide dirty cunt and always gets away with it.

I know, but what I mean is the way he's tested. Balls in behind, in the channels, one on one against someone skillful. I haven't seen that and other things happen yet, that's all.

You absolutely love goals like that being scored by your team like, Shearer-esque.

Still waiting to see him be properly tested tbh. Until then I'm still not 100% sold, but it might just end up being that he's so good that he doesn't look like he's being tested. Really impressed with what I've seen so far.
