The one I always remember is a 4-1 drubbing by Arsenal. Seem to remember Giroud scoring after 10 minutes and someone posting "FINALLY!" or something.

Such a weird time like. Just getting so sick of being shit and the club being fine with it that our minds just decided to enjoy it in the hope it would accelerate the process. Easily the low point of supporting Newcastle for me.

Tbf I thought there was a lot in there that was new, either because I've missed it or because it's new. I hadn't read the stuff about the different architects saying what might and might not be possible.

You don't need to be a season ticket holder to be an NU Trust member.

Yeah, whenever's there's loads of smoke around a player (Paqueta, Maddison, Phillips) I just assume it's not happening now.

Parts of it are the same ground that have been there since before my lifetime. My preference would be that it remains where it is. If a new stadium is built around the current pitch, or it ends up completely different like the Ship of Theusus/Trigger's broom then sobeit.

I would hope it would be 'don't ask me a question based on a false premise'

No one knows that's the case yet tbh. This feasibility study can't come quick enough.

I'd just let go and continue to trust the recruitment team if they were in for him. The lesson should have been learned with Pope and then Gordon on what the team needs I reckon. ie we know nowt

I personally don't consider option 4 to be in the 'stay at SJP' category, it would be the same site and 100% better than going somewhere else, but the existing stadium and the pitch are still key factors imo. According to that article, 3 different architects have said expansion is definitely possible. Of course, pinch of salt, because they're not the only people involved, but my personal gut feeling is that Gallowgate expansion will be possible and that the East Stand could get a modest upgrade without impacting on the light that Leazes Terrace gets. I wonder if the light issue would still exist if the club bought Leazes Terrace and turned it into a hotel.

For those talking about Royal Arcade etc. The narrator's way of speaking is quite jarring to me, but it's a good video. I'll not spoil it, but I had a proper 'wew' moment when it was revealed where the remnants of The Royal Arcade are now, because I'd seen them before but hadn't realised that's what they were.

I wouldn't agree overall, but I would definitely agree that as 'move from SJP' options go, that would be the one that would be by far the least terrible and I would guess would be the most popular move option.

From what I've heard from various player interviews, Ravel Morrison.

He's got that weird 'been abroad for a while' twang that the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith had.

As much as I have problems with modern day football, the PL is really popular because it's always (and increasingly so imo) been competitive to a broader extent than other leagues. Therefore it's been profitable and clubs have used that profit to double down and attract the best players, meaning, as you say, even its 7th best teams are favourites for the Conference League. But the flip side of that is that the opposite is also true of other leagues. They're less popular, largely because they're reaping what they've sown for being less competitive for so long due to their own issues with one or two clubs hoovering up all the money and talent and dominating. But it's just a phase imo, no league will ever dominate Europe because those lagging behind will always be forced to be creative and innovate, and dominating teams will always get complacent and have hubris. It happened to Italy, then Spain, now us imo. In the meantime Serie A is competitive again, and Germany looks like it's getting its act together at the moment. Anyway, I'm blethering. My point is that I don't think the situation at the moment is because the PL is doing anything wrong in this case, in fact it's the opposite, other leagues are reaping what they've sewn but will hit back, and even if they don't they should get their own house in order if they want to be broadly competitive, they don't need a bunk up.

Maybe Ronaldo was right.

I'm sure the fans of whichever team benefit from the coefficient won't give a shit about that and neither would we.

Never want to see any posts from any of you about Sunderland 'hating Newcastle first and loving Sunderland second' then.

Is it still schadenfreude when you're cutting your nose off to spite your face?

If you're at the point where your disdain for English dominance in Europe (a phase just like any other) is encroaching on your support for Newcastle qualifying for the best European competition possible, is it not time to ask whether you're sipping on the kool aid a bit?
