We're running away with the title with plenty of games to spare.
  2. I put a lot of his weaknesses down to Dubravka. Might sound ridiculous but the whole point of having a player like Botman is that you have a sweeper keeper, any slow player that's part of a high line will be exposed without one. Having said that he was especially poor tonight.
  3. And now Gordon and Barnes. Incidentally I wonder what the record is for this over a full season
  4. As far as I'm concerned tonight and AC Milan at home are the matches this season where I put the performance and result mainly down to the approach rather than the circumstances or the quality of the opposition.
  5. Put it this way, if you're asking that question I think you're already beyond any reason.
  6. Yes, we should only consider the things you've said there and nothing else. You're very clever.
  7. Thought he was easily the standout in the midfield for driving forward and for offering meaningful cover out of position.
  8. Presumably nobody wants to say it because in doing so you'd automatically give yourself away as being from planet thick cunt
  9. Not good enough. The worst thing about it for me is that aside from Gusto and Palmer, they were and are absolutely shite. I can't put it down to injuries and fatigue here, we just weren't good enough and didn't compete where it mattered against a team I consider a soft touch. We've thrashed better teams who've put in 10x the performance and effort that Chelsea put in tonight. I know football is not that simple but it stuck in my mind and felt relevant tonight. A couple of really standout abject performances for me. I'm sure it's a bit of a knee-jerk but I'm sick of Longstaff now. He grafts his arse off and covers well but he's been woeful on the ball for a while now. Dubravka has been in good form but had one of those Dubravka performances where some of the conceded goals just don't look right. Dubravka: 3 Livramento: 7 Schär: 5 Botman: 4 Burn: 5.5 Longstaff: 3 Bruno: 5 Willock: 6.5 Almiron: 4 Isak: 7 Gordon: 4 Murphy: 7
  10. I absolutely hate this lot like, especially now with the way they play which is up there with my least favourite type of football. Really hope we can nail this game down and win it, but it rarely feels like we will at Stamford Bridge, regardless of how shite they are.
  11. How I feel about the Burn talk. Longstaff has needlessly lost the ball a couple of times and played Tino and Bruno hospital balls, I know he covers better than Miley but it's wearing thin with him on the ball like.
  12. For the most part a bit of a nothing performance against a nothing team who scored a nothing goal. No idea what the commentator was on about saying our goal came during a period of Chelsea control. Anyone who knows us knows that when we're pressing and dominating possession like that, it just needs for us to click and we'll score. Annoying that they look dangerous on the break because they're absolutely shite tbh. For us, we need a few tweaks for it to click, but if it does then it's ours for the taking. Willock could be pivotal and we need Bruno and Isak to be more involved. Longstaff poor, Botman poorer for the goal and Gordon uncharacteristically terrible, but the injury (of course) at least shows why.
  13. Anyone else feel kind of all-footballed out this season? Every match that comes around now I just feel like I can't be arsed.
  14. Yesterday I got 6 points and moved up in the N-O league. Today I have 15 points with Dubravka, Gordon, and Palmer to play. So far none of my players have more than 2 points, including the captain. Gearing up as my all time worst week in FPL.
  15. Neville and Dean desperate for the drama and VAR for once being the sensible one. Would have been a pathetic decision to give that as a pen.
  16. Been out so just seen the Villa score. I wonder if their luck with the way they set up is finally running out this season.

  18. I'd have it anywhere that means getting rid of Clayton Street, Grainger Street South, Bigg Market, and bits of Westgate Road. If not, flatten the Manors, central motorway, Carliol Street, Market Street, Swan House, Laing Art Gallery/abandoned hotel area. Sketchy as fuck around there and almost all hideous.
  19. The average age on here is like 46 or something, there's no reason I can see to jump to the conclusion that he's not liked because of his age. That's mad. I have a beef with him because he was a complete arsehole when I disagreed with the points he made to (and the way he spoke to and about) the anti- sportswashing protesters, in the most mild-mannered way you could think of. A running theme with him that a few on here know is that if there's any pushback on what he says, he turns nasty. Apparently the thing everyone is too naive to understand is that Saudi not signing up to an international agreement on human rights = no human rights abuses in Saudi. It's that simple!
  20. Appreciate what you're saying. Directly there, no question. From already being in the city centre it's a different story in terms of getting to the arena, but especially coming back.
  21. You couldn't say that about Newcastle College, that's a disconnected hub, SJP is directly connected to the city centre and not just Percy Street, but Stowell Street, Barrack Road, Queen Victoria Road, which are all busy. Ask someone with accessibility needs whether the arena site is difficult to get to without transport and whether it is vs SJP. Guarantee you'll see it differently.
  22. The centre is where is where the people and businesses are, that's how Newcastle's city centre moved up from the Quayside, to Grey Street, to Northumberland Street. The area site isn't accessible from the city centre like SJP is at all like, there's a 40m difference in elevation and no continuity from the centre to that site like there is with SJP.
  23. As someone who worked at the Business School for 5 years, this is just absolute nonsense and while it might not be Northumberland Street busy, it's still the Shibuya crossing compared to the arena site.
