  1. Dunno why but there's something about their insistence on calling them 'season cards' that's so weird
  2. Jorge Campos is the 'keeper that comes to my mind when I think of 'keepers growing up. I posted about him not long ago. Loved Toldo as well and didn't think there was much between him and Buffon at one time.
  3. I'd be pretty confident about this if it was most other mid to bottom table sides tomorrow, but a technical energetic team that's in form and full of zippy little nonces like Willian and Pereira are the last thing you want after an energy sapping and demoralising mid-week European tie. I've got this one down as a 2-2 but it feels like it could be anything.

Everything's new and surreal as well. I was thinking yesterday about how annoying Wednesday night was and how it was in our hands to get through to the Champions League second stage, if only we'd beaten the AC Milan team we were better than on the night in a group of us, PSG, Dortmund, and AC Milan. Then you think about that whole scenario and the thing I found funniest about it is that despite how mental that would have sounded a couple of years ago and how far we've come so quickly, that situation we were in and the annoyance that we should have won actually doesn't feel surreal. I'm amazed by the surroundings and think look how quick we got here, but I never question why we're here (or like on Wednesday why it's annoying we didn't get through) because that's obvious - we're really good.
  5. Yeah, usually dead against bringing players back and disrupting them, but if it can be done with zero fuss then it's becoming a necessity.

    Harvey Barnes

12 weeks from 11th November according to the injuries and suspensions thread
  7. I would imagine it's because Man United bullying the bottom half of the league or scraping wins leaves less of a positive impression on the people watching than the negative impression that's left seeing them get ragdolled most times they play anyone decent.

Still just under 2 months away

Probably gonna have to bring Longstaff into midfield so we can use Joelinton for rotation with Gordon.

    Lewis Hall

Only a tiny shit stir, but on a recent player Q&A thing they were asked who arrives to training last and one of them said Hall, the other two said Willock ("although to be fair that's because he's injured")
  11. Pens I get but that's a needlessly pedantic rule to have on free kicks
  12. One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that. Also bear in mind that I was 12
  13. Didn't say we had a very patient fanbase, but I don't think we have a uniquely impatient one.
  14. Bailey is in hot form tbf, 9 g+a this season
  15. He could be such a snivelling sack of shit, but fucking hell I loved watching him play football. Very few made what they did seem so easy and obvious once they'd done it.
  16. Liverpool have barely ever had bad seasons to be patient about, but just in recent memory they wanted Hodgson out from the moment he arrived, before a ball had been kicked. They detested him. Forums aren't fanbases though, same as Twitter, we found that out when trying to oust Pardew. Twitter especially is much more reactionary. If 03-04 is relevant (the majority didn't want him out but admittedly some did) then so is 00-01 when we finished 11th nearly 2 full seasons after SBR arrived. Souness - Shepherd pulled the trigger before any widespread fan discontent Roeder - more of a sympathetic figure who was never a long term solution Allardyce - a lot quickly and rightly wanted him out, as has every self-respecting fanbase Keegan - got patience at end of 07-08 because he's a legend and the football was miles better Pardew's been covered McClaren - not enough pressure if anything. He was useless but not disliked Bruce - hands up that I personally checked out the moment he was announced, we'd seen enough of his managerial career to know he didn't deserve even a chance
  17. No one wants to pretend, they just disagree with you. Would love to know who these fanbases are who are universally patient with poorly performing managers like. It just sounds like absolute made up guff. Me and a fair few on here know just how split the fanbase was on Pardew when you claim he was turned on by everyone. A lot of people took a lot of convincing and some idiots still defend him now.
  18. It had some amazing moments (the 5-0, 7-1, qualifying for the Champions League) but going into it with the expectation after signing Shearer, then Keegan leaving, the dirge football Dalglish had us playing, getting dicked by Monaco, Ginola being ostracised (my version of what Souness did with Robert) I remember feeling really disappointed, particularly as Man United were nothing special that year. Finishing 2nd on 68 points is mental like
  19. Off the top of my head 94/95, 96/97, 97/98, 98/99, 00/01 for one reason or another were all a bit disappointing but the manager was supported. 03/04 is the only season where a point could be made. Go beyond that and you're looking at seasons with multiple managers and managers who didn't deserve support if they didn't get it.
  20. Canny annoying that you can't free hit and bench boost or triple captain at the same time.
  21. Do yous think not being fully fit doesn't exist or something?
  22. He played the woke card and it woked
  23. The hell for leatherness was fine by me, it was the naivety when they were countering for their second that was a problem. Schar flew too close to the sun and then Isak for some reason didn't bring their player down, then Dubravka imo should have saved it.
  24. Forest 1-2 Spurs Bournemouth 2-1 Luton Chelsea 2-0 Sheff United Man City 2-0 Palace Newcastle 2-2 Fulham Burnley 1-1 Everton Arsenal 3-1 Brighton Brentford 1-2 Villa West Ham 2-0 Wolves Liverpool 2-0 Man United
