  1. I agree, but I'm talking months after when it was being used as a stick to beat him with and a lot of the general reaction was a shrug and a wey
  2. Depends on where he fits in. If Solanke was a rotation player I'd be up for that, but he's too good for that.
  3. I don't disagree I'm just making a different point about how blasé people were about Pardew's part in them battering us, at home, with a very good squad and them being very poor and managed by Di Canio. It didn't seem important to a lot of people then and it was really baffling.
  4. We shouldn't have been viewed as being on their level then and I know I didn't. Our squad was miles better and they were beating us comprehensively, at home, with the likes of Colback playing for them and Di Canio managing them. It was unforgivable what Pardew did.
  5. All this talk of the derby being a huge deal, yet it was honestly like the majority of our fanbase had been labotomised when Pardew had us getting dicked by them on the reg.
  6. The match is 26 because 25 was played at the end of the season. From match 18 we got 7 points via 1 win, 4 draws, 2 losses. Taking us from 34 to 41 points We'd be looking at getting 12 points via 4 wins 3 losses. Taking us from 29 to 41 points
  7. I really wouldn't, because that would be willfully ignorant of every other factor. Teams can and do go down for a number of reasons other than the manager - lack of signings, injury crises, pure bad luck, referee cock ups, other teams cheating, in Howe's case a few of them plus goal line technology failing. Saying Howe 'got' Bournemouth relegated is just daft.
  8. Reminder, even if we only win our next 4 home games we'll be in the same position (points wise) as we were last season. Wins and losses seem to feel worse than draws, but if we can push through this bad spell by leaning on our home form, then getting players back, stopping the rot away, then putting a run together, another 70ish point season isn't off the table.
  9. You're slowly but surely getting there, give it time.
  10. "He got Bournemouth relegated" isn't 'a fact', it's an opinion. And a characteristically insufferable one.
  11. I rate Wilson highly, but when he's out of form, the impact is massive because he doesn't offer much more than goals. He'll be back but I'm strongly in favour of having another striker option now.
  12. It's funny isn't it. When we're winning it's unbelievable what Howe has done with largely the same players we had under Bruce, when we're losing the players are talented and should be beating Luton even with 9 or 10 men. Not saying it's the same people but it's funny how quickly things turn on a sixpence.
  13. I didn't even think it was anything like the descriptions I'm reading, unsurprisingly. Shit up top, really shit, particularly Wilson who yet again got ragdolled and resorted to panto villian bollocks, but behind our attacking players we dominated the ball and put the ball in areas where you'd expect at least one of Wilson, Almiron, Gordon, or Isak to be. But they never were. I can accept people calling it shite, abject, even pathetic, but I've seen people saying it was lacking effort, lazy, unprofessional, which is just complete bollocks like. At worst, they're playing like they're feeling sorry for themselves a bit, or just playing shite. Some have seemingly taken for granted what actual unprofessionalism looks like.
  14. Shit again from our forward line, particularly Wilson who when he's out of form quickly becomes insufferable. We basically just need to stop the rot with our away form and go from there. Hard to believe, but if we win our home matches and just one of our away matches over the next month or so and we'll be in a better position than at the same point last season. Dubravka: 6 Trippier: 5 Schär: 5 Botman: 7 Bruno: 6.5 Longstaff: 5.5 Miley: 6 Isak: 5.5 Almiron: 4 Wilson: 3 Gordon: 5
  15. Was that 94 match the one on the black and white video where we hit the woodwork like 5 times?
  16. I just hope that the counter protests against this are as ferocious as they were last time if the English teams try and sneak in through the back door.
  17. I've been on here on and off coming up to 20 years. In that time I don't think I've ever seen anyone who makes the "you're not allowed to say such and such on here" ever come to the really basic realisation that criticism of what you're saying isn't anything like being told that you can't say it. It's so simple yet somehow seemingly rocket science level complicated for some people. Absolute fannies man, have some conviction in your points instead of whinging to the imaginary referee about how people didn't like what you were saying.
  18. Just seen the main man himself in Gosforth Traders. Turning to wanky craft beer to drown his sorrows? Much to think about.
  19. Palace 1-1 Brighton Villa 3-0 Sheff Utd West Ham 2-1 Man Utd Fulham 2-0 Burnley Luton 2-1 Newcastle Forest 2-1 Bournemouth Spurs 3-1 Everton Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal Wolves 2-1 Chelsea
  20. IIRC the only long term injury we had last season was Krafth, wasn't it? We might have had a lot of niggly injuries last season, but the amount of injuries that we've had this season and the time that the players have been out for has been absurd like.
  21. Depends who we're playing. Something like this: Pope Trippier/Livramento rotation Schär Botman Livramento/Burn rotation Bruno Longstaff/Miley rotation Joelinton/Willock rotation Almiron/Murphy rotation Isak/Wilson rotation or off the bench Gordon/Barnes/Willock/Joelinton/Isak rotation
  22. That's not true though, on the few occasions we pressed, we won the ball back or knocked it out of play, they were shaky on the ball. When we attacked in the first half it was on the break and we were a poor ball away from getting in at least 3 times. Basically I think we suffered from poor performances and then when we reverted to soaking up pressure it never looked solid. I don't think you can remove potential mistakes from your own tired players from the things that can happen when you play like that, it's just one of the many things that can happen. And it did, if it wasn't that it, then on another night it's Broja or Sterling or whoever finishing when they should have.
  23. Yeah he's just went and said it's a yellow so I retract my statement and he's a complete moron.
