FiveThirtyEight doing itself proud again. I think even the most pessimistic wouldn't have predicted 47 points for us. And only a 4% difference in chance between Man United and Villa making top 4 and them with a 1% chance above Brighton. All ridiculous even without hindsight.

It's all just a completely mess. Presumably at no point during all of this did the ref ask VAR for a second look at it, or VAR suggest it. Just nah, that's a pen, VAR goes aye no bother, no option of a re-review and the 'high bar' overruling what was a clear and obvious error. And yet again it's in Liverpool's favour.

You would expect Brentford to give them a much harder match than that.

I can't believe the referee I've hated the most for the last 20 years, who famously had a reputation for big club/Man United bias hasn't sorted VAR out and it's now even worse.
