Co-holding this opinion with wanting Howe out just seems like indulging in nihilism.
-
Fake news AFAIK. Not fit for purpose was a quote from Summer '24 about the transfer strategy under Staveley and Ghodoussi. Where are the quotes about him and our shortlist?
-
Always have been, but the fixation on him alone and the ignorance for the mitigating circumstances is madness imo. He even gets criticised for our summer transfers, despite his hit rate and the circumstances that meant he was bailing the club out. Today was awful, no getting around that and he takes his share of the blame, but it changes nothing for me personally. He has next season to put things right, getting rid of him would be catastrophic with this hierarchy in place imo.

You were calling Howe a P.E teacher 2 weeks into his appointment, prior to the easy relegation survival, 4th, 7th, 5th finishes and a Cup. I'm no know it all, but I'm also no know nowt. Absolutely no one who defends Howe thinks "he can do no wrong", there are just too many mitigating circumstances this season to say that the overriding thing that needs to change is the manager.
-
What a load of shite, as usual.

While Howe is here he's Newcastle United. And no I wouldn't agree with that, we've had a shit season, punctuated by that shit today, but there are far too many mitigating circumstances for me to blame Howe. He's took a major, major blow today though.
-
I disagree personally but I'm also a realist.
-
I do worry about him now. Not because I want him gone or anywhere near it, but just that more of the fanbase will probably turn on him now.
-
Funny how compressed it is again. Must win tomorrow and we're right in amongst it.

That's top bin in the top bin

Lovely goal. He's fucking class him.
-
He's one of those generic sounding players you don't notice at all until you're linked with them I think.

Can see why we like Garner.

Still yet to see what's so special about Fofana. Awful, dawdling defending.

Hehehehehe

That pass by Lavia

When you think about my name...Liam. Li am. Lie I am? No. I'm a battery, I keep going. Guilty as charged.

Shades of Crespo vs Liverpool with that finish.

Would be funny just for Yorkie's reaction posts tbf

They're not mutually exclusive. It's not even controversial either, the whole 'protect the brand' thing was known about widely when it was reported on at the time. The decisions were fine tonight as well. The amad challenge wasn't anything like the other two pen decisions (where the attackers had already got goalside of the defenders and were dragged back) imo. One of those ones I'd have been screaming for it if it was us and would be livid if it was given against us.

Newcastle United vs. mackems: 22/3/26 @ 12:00 (Sky Sports)

Went to see Clinton Baptíste last night and the spirits told him it would be 1-1. Make of that what you will. -
Yeah, the argument you're making about players choosing Man United is all well and good I think, I wouldn't really disagree with that and wasn't really commenting on that, it was more just the defence of your club's current state in that context vs when you criticise it on other contexts that I was commenting on really. Only thing I would say is that the dynamic of our Bruno to you is a bit different to your Bruno to Real Madrid - similar to Isak, 99% of the issue our fans would have is selling him to a domestic rival. A nearer comparison would be if Arsenal wanted your Bruno imo, something I would imagine you'd have a problem with and would have you questioning your place in the food chain and his motivations over.

No I know they weren't mentioned. My point is that when you're talking about the Glazers the things you're playing down, defending, and lauding now - eg cup wins, league finishes, leaking roof, toxicity within the club and more - are exactly the same things you cite as reasons they're failing Man United and by extension Man United itself is failing on their watch. I've likened it to family before, people will criticise their own family members for their failings, but the moment someone outside the family makes the same criticisms, the automatic reaction isn't to agree, but to defend the family member from the outsider.
-
Can we quote all of that back to you when you're complaining about all of those things while making the case for the Glazers being the worst thing in the world?
