They more or less said "Newcastle can't just waltz in here and do what we've all been doing" without any hint of self reflection. This is one aspect of the whole thing where it's pure hypocrisy, jealousy, and the chickens coming home to roost. This was wrong in 2003, not 18 years later when there's a bigger fish.

He's so wordy now it's ridiculous. Completely takes away from the images telling their own story and being funny in themselves. He used to write 2 sentences per caption at the most, I'm sure.

This talk about following the correct process is strange considering they're following one that no other functioning club would ever follow. You sack the manager first, you don't keep a manager who knows he's on the way out, whose presence alone negatively affects the team and fans, whose position is undermined with the players, and who is in a shocking run of form. It's very obvious straight away that these are not football people and that they need to get some people in who are. It seems the problem is chicken and egg in that because they're not football people, they don't know who to turn to.

Honestly though, look at the managers who are out of work and you'll probably see why. If they go for PL experience or a proven manager to avoid relegation and it's just for the interim, I'd probably have him over the alternatives.

I actually hate that I'm even suggesting this, but I wonder if Roy Hodgson might be a good shout for a purely til-the-end-of-the-season caretaker role.
