  1. We all are now compared to the politics of the club's owners and main fan representatives like.
  2. I've never known anyone that even sticks up for Wraith aside from Greg, ironically.
  3. Not sure about those comparisons like. Pep and Klopp didn't have PL experience but were already arguably the two best managers out there having won major leagues and champions leagues, all of the managers mentioned also came in to manage far, far, far better squads that Newcastle's.
  4. I think it is tbh, arguably worse considering the connection. But I get why you think differently.
  5. I can't see how this can possibly work with the current players in the squad like Seems incredibly, needlessly risky
  6. I get that those things are different, what I'm saying is that the overwhelming argument and outrage at the time was about the name being sacred and in that sense this should be no different, but it is because everything has its price.
  7. I don't see how it's different tbh, the whole argument at the time about the club not benefitting financially from the name change was as an aside to the much bigger, more popular argument about the name being sacred. The only thing I disagree with TheGuv on there is being surprised, because it's clear everything has its price. May as well start putting product placement in the 'what is a club in any case...' quote tbh.
  8. That's what Ashley did though.
  9. Absolutely out of the question as far as I'm concerned. Find another way
  10. Ha, no way, I used to work with Jamie. Great lad.
  11. It really is the sort of thing that should make every fanbase stop making the same lazy assumptions about every other fanbase like. Never does.
  12. Fonseca wouldn't be seen dead in a regular fit shirt
  13. Does Martinez have something on everyone in the game or something? Never known such a mediocre manager be linked to and get jobs that seem so far beyond their capabilities. He's like the Jermaine Jenas of management.
  14. Would have recommended The Football Ramble but I went back to it recently and the natural chemistry seems to have fallen off a cliff since they got new presenters on board. Maybe it's still good but I didn't listen for long enough to find out.
  15. Arsenal: Lacazette Villa: McGinn Brentford: Toney Brighton: Cucurella Burnley: Mee Chelsea: Gallagher Palace: Zaha Everton: Doucoure Leeds: No idea tbh Leicester: Tielemans Liverpool: Thiago Man City: Zinchenko ManU: Lingard, Martial, and Van de Beek Norwich: Cantwell Southampton: Ward-Prowse Spurs: Lucas Moura Watford: Sarr West Ham: Soucek Wolves: Coady
  16. Seems like there's a bit of this going on like. The people who were against dressing in Arabian clothes were against it because they think it glorifies Saudi Arabia, not because they wanted to protect Saudi Arabians from cultural appropriation. I do think the idea of cultural appropriation is largely people thinking they're speaking for everyone when they're maybe not, but it does seem like the club's owners can't lose like. They buy the club and the supposed virtue signallers and snowflakes are against it yet are in the minority and have zero influence, then a week later the club's owners put out a statement asking people to not dress in Arabian clothes and it's because the virtue signallers and snowflakes are trying to protect them and have too much influence? They can't lose. All of this is part of how sportswashing works though isn't it? The whole 'people just having a bit of fun' element of it. No one in their right mind would ever think that Newcastle fans are doing anything sinister, because they're not, but in doing so they're softening the image of Saudi Arabia and it seems there are now those who'll pass the blame of the owner's own decisions onto some imagined group of people, it's an absolute check mate move really.
  17. FWIW from what I've learned about him in these videos, I think appointing him now is massively asking for trouble. Trying to get a team that's had Steve Bruce as its manager for the last 2 years to start playing possession football from the back without already having at least the type of players to suit that style is a huge ask for a team without the luxury of a comfortable league position to allow for patience in that approach. Add to that his poor record when the players he needs aren't available through injury and his teams conceding a lot and it seems a very risky option. Rafa remains far and away the ideal option that obviously isn't available, so I'd go for someone in his or Emery's mould who's available. No idea who that is though.
  18. BT should be a better channel than one that has Robbie Savage involved in anything like
  19. Tbh I want OGS to beat Liverpool, go on a run, maybe spawnily win the FA Cup, or do anything you could mistakenly perceive as progress that'll keep him in the job for even longer because he's absolutely shite considering the players they have.
  20. Laughing thinking about all the maniacs who scream FUCKING CLEAR IT MAN! at any opportunity having to watch Newcastle's defence constantly try and pass its way through a press.
  21. The only people that'll be taken in by all that shit is people who never go on the internet.
  22. Hung out to dry ffs, he willingly took payment for that exact role.
  23. Obviously looking for the sympathy vote forgetting that he's managed 10 other clubs whose fans are probably all laughing along.
