It really does sound like the Celtic situation, that's the thing.
-
Think it's because Emery just very recently pulled out of a deal with Newcastle and Howe pulled out of one with Celtic like. Don't think it's an Ashley thing.

I still have this weird faith that Isaac Hayden's going to turn into a much better footballer and I'm not sure why.

I'm absolutely buckled

I didn't rate him either but the last few years I've been impressed with him every time I've seen him. Big personality in the England group too. If it is definitely going to be Howe, then full backs are going to be really important you'd think.

Still can't read Jamie Reuben without immediately thinking of Jamie from the band Reuben

Was that not King Dawson? I always mixed them up, but some of the outlandish ITKs were funny.

His work ethic and especially that work ethic about learning more about the game rather than just pure graft is a huge box tick for me. Howe might end up being a complete disaster, but having someone who puts the work in to the point of obsession and is likeable is a really important thing and was a big part of why it was easy to give Rafa a lot of leeway when things weren't improving straight away. Him getting involved in the community would get a lot of people on his side as well, every little thing like that helps. It was hard for Rafa with certain sections of our support at times and that was someone with an excellent CV to point at, so Howe might need everything he can get if he doesn't hit the ground running.

Trippier's exactly the sort of player I could see us going for like. Surprised it's taken this long for him to be one of the hundreds of names linked.

Similar to Tifo. Very interesting stuff but a bit football hipster-ish and not always in line with the reality.

Watch the Pardew one if you want to feel a bit better about having Arteta.

Good to read. I've been looking on a couple of Bournemouth forums and some say similar to you. We have first hand experience of Howe developing players into something we thought they weren't. Dan Gosling was really nothing much of anything when he was here - snippets here and there, but not really a player who really did anything of note - next thing Bournemouth sign him and he's not exactly banging them in, but you can at least see the type of player he is.

Minus 17 The story behind the dream. On YouTube, just a documentary about Bournemouth's rise from administration to the PL.
-
Only about half an hour into the minus 17 documentary, well worth a watch.
-
Hadn't realised that Luton were also on -17 and Rotherham were on -30 the same season as Bournemouth like. That part of it was kept quiet.

Can completely understand being underwhelmed or against this, but thinking he would have come here under Ashley...howeh.

My lass's dad, the same one that's had Howe as his number 1 choice for manager for the last 6 years. "I've always liked him - and thought it would be interesting to see what he could do with more resources. I can still see us getting relegated though"
-
Feel daft for ever having thought he was being serious. Seems like he has exactly the sort of deliberately theatrical sense of rivalry I can enjoy rather than the genuinely toxic shit you often see. Funny bloke.

I'm 100% sure Ritchie will be starting like

Was below Rafa, Emery, and Ten Hag for me, but considering Emary was the only one of those near to being realistic, can't really complain after 14 years of mostly rubbish managers who were there to manage our expectations as much as they were the team. I have big concerns over Bournemouth's defence over the years, but having an attack-minded manager who actually tries to win for a club that's going to try to win is exactly what we all asked for. Also very relieved that it's not Martinez.

Really hope they haven't jumped the gun again and he's sound with this being put out to the media.

Worse than sending abuse to Khashoggi's fiance and Amnesty International? Shouldn't tar a fanbase with the same brush of its melts, especially when we know we have our own.
