I'm fascinated to see what Howe does with midfield and how he sees it. Whether he wants an out and out DM with Bruno further forward, a regista that replaces Shelvey with a better/more mobile version, a more attacking midfielder with Bruno moving back to DM, or someone who has a bit of everything similar to Bruno.

I wouldn't get rid of Manquillo like. Krafth's been great but who's to say part of that's not because Manquillo's been pushing him in training? He's also just about as comfortable at LB so can fill in there if needed.

Bet you were chuffed with yourself when you came up with that one.

https://youtu.be/akdTpiJJdrw Good quick interview. Surprising favourite goal and definitely one of mine as well.

Any way to check the stadium capacity by stand? Would be interesting to see what the capacity would actually be if we mirrored the Leazes and Leazes west corner over the Gallowgate and Gallowgate west corner.

and presuming he must be really fucking good because that amount was completely alien to us.

Would be canny funny tbf. Would be like the football formation version of Joe Swanson

I can't remember who it is, might be Andy Brassell, but they're adamant that it's Tuchel's M.O to come in looking incredible and then things very quickly fall off a cliff.

No one will ever truly know how essential SJP is to them until it's taken away. All I would say is ask any long-term Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, or Man City fan whether they prefer their new sterilidome over their previous ground. You'd be absolutely mental to not take that consensus into account. Extending the Gallowgate seems like it'll please everyone though and cost less than a new stadium.

What tier is Talbot?

Why do I feel like that front line won't work out? Something about it doesn't seem right.

It's not what? An essential part of being a Newcastle fan for me? I understand the urge to want to move and get more fans in and it's always framed as being for kids and low cost tickets etc, but I've said it before, judging by other clubs it's much more likely that fans and kids actually end up being priced out and the demographics of those at matches changing to corporates, tourists, and the middle class than it becoming more inclusive. Then it ends up that you've sacrificed the the heart and soul of the club for nothing.

No move, not ever. It's an essential part of what it is to support Newcastle for me.

'Why would Hugo Ekitike do this?'
-
On the other hand Gillespie and Liam O'Brien. We completely fucked up not signing Rossi as well imo.
-
I also wouldn't keep hanging onto that 2nd place finish from 2 seasons ago, you were still miles off it while other teams had big off seasons.

I’m not saying he’s bad though, just that being an important player in arguably the most unsuccessful era in Man United’s history is damning with faint praise. I’ve watched Man United a lot (obviously not as much as you) and I agree that he’s often looked like your best and most committed player, but I think that’s undoubtedly more an indictment on your other players over the years than a reflection on his ability as a player at the level you're aspiring to. Just like Herrera, but at a lower level again, if he’s going to play a big role for you and you have aspirations of winning the league, it’s a big red flag imo. Weirdly (it’s still an alien feeling that I can’t really accept) it’s that same eventual aspiration that means I wouldn’t want him at Newcastle.
-
It's like Herrera all over again. It's a back-handed complement for a player like him to be in a big role position for a team with apparent asperations of winning the league.
-
Hard pass. Man United's lack of commitment and professionalism from other players makes it look like he has something imo. You can find it elsewhere, but cheaper and with much more talent on top.

Aye, possibly because of his agent. Are you going to suddenly change your mind about him if he ends up signing for us? -

Honestly, I'm not saying it's intentional gaslighting, but fucking hell. No one remember this and then everyone shitting the bed?
