  1. I'd love to see the stats (shots particularly) for the 0-1 loss vs. the 5-0 win the season after. I was at both and, perhaps due to acquired permanent-embitterment, sense of injustice, and plain old dummy-spitting tantrum-itis I have suffered since then, I feel like the 0-1 was a more one-sided game. Probably wasn't, but fucking hell man Les!!
  2. If Leeds go down, think we might have a chance of Kalvin Phillips. The prospect of him alongside Bruno is really exciting. The stability they could bring would offer a great foundation for whoever is in front of them. Thinking while writing this, I have actually seen relatively little of both of them, but they would nevertheless be my 'Penis' Wise stylee preference.
  3. Can’t help thinking it would shift from great to freakishly good form to win this, or even go 9 games unbeaten. That said, one game at a time. With our confidence and the fact we look like a proper team again, who knows! Personally, I would defo shake hands on a draw before kick-off.
  4. Love the redemption arc concept! ? Trying to think of players who would have had the steepest!
  5. Think it’ll probably be same staring 11. Dependent on fitness. Don’t think Murphy will start if ASM deemed fully fit. Shelvey looked like he might have a bit of a knock, though will be very reluctant, I imagine, to say anything that means he might not start (might be worried he’ll struggle to get back in). I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Krafth (though not seen live/had overview of positional sense etc.). I think our manager likes to reward effort and knows how a run in the side, and the knowledge that someone (the second most important someone) believes in you, can improve self-belief (the most important someone) and lead to even better performances. So tactical change, or glaring errors, aside I suspect Eddie H will always be likely to stick, rather than twist.
  6. Pisses me off that people think this is a Sunderland phrase. Even Jimmy Carter knew better... .
  7. Vote for Ryan (Feb Premier League Player of the Month) here: https://plpotm.easports.com Up against Adams, Kane, Matip, Mee and Zaha.
  8. Vote for Eddie as Feb MotM here: https://www.premierleague.com/news/2509232
  9. Vote for Eddie (February MotM) here: https://www.premierleague.com/news/2509232 Up against these three in the shortlist Mikel Arteta: P3 W3 D0 L0 GD+3; Ralph Hasenhuttl: P4 W3 D1 L0 GD+5; Jurgen Klopp: P4 W4 D0 L0 GD+11. Eddie Howe: P4 W3 D1 L0 GD+5. Newcastle United moved out of the bottom three for the first time since September with 10 points from a possible 12. Howe's men beat relegation rivals Everton and Brentford in that run.
  10. Imagine adding another three (or more please...) with the composure and class of Bruno and Tripps in the summer
  11. Murphy’s shooting like erectile dysfunction? Nah… his shots love a bit of wood (…work) ? (sorry).
  12. Grayson gave Joelinton MotM, for first half performance… sounded like he had a quiet/ineffective first half from comments here.
  13. Thanks. Sounds like he just a threaded a decent ball for ASM to make another wrong decision about.
  14. Big Joe is a bit of a radgy based on last couple of games … .
  15. Ok… can’t resist. A forward line of Big Joe, Murphy and Matt Targett… wonder how many chances we’d need to score?
  16. I have come down with a dose of lesser-spotted supreme confidence about this game. It is not the first time, but it has been a rare pre-match condition in my lifetime, a recurrence of a nasty difficult to shift dose which started about 28 years ago; with a couple of short-lived recurrences since. Frankly, it is quite a strange and unsettling experience.
  17. There was a time—young fella me lad—when sinking money in Pink Lane would have had a different, though possibility equally celebratory, connotation ?
  18. Surely in with a shout of manager of the month. If they still do such malarkey ?‍♂️
