  1. It’s obviously far too soon to tell if Gordon is going to be a decent or shite signing but facts are that he’s not looked all that amazing so far. Doesn’t mean he won’t, just not right now. But that’s a lot of money spent, if he wished away another 30m+ on a certified dud like McTominay, that would be a lot of negativity from supporters and probably the owners.. I just can’t see him being that stupid. Gordon was a punt.. that’s fair enough, but we need to be bringing in players where the stats/data show exactly what we’re getting. Just like when Bruno signed. We knew we were getting a progressive midfielder.
  2. He’s just something different and he’s fairly consistent these days. I think we’re past where we’re comparing players in certain positions, what we had today was good use of the squad. He’ll be dependable without ever really taking that big leap in terms of performances, but that’s fine. We need a strong squad and he’s one of those characters who brings positivity and obviously is living the dream playing for the club he supports.
  3. What did he say to Haaland, it was all about to kick off and then Burn said something and you just see the smile creep up on his ugly face ?
  4. Atrocious today for Forest, gave away a penalty and then chickened out of a header which led to second goal. Any fleeting moments where I think we shouldn’t have let him go evaporated entirely when I saw that ?
  5. It’s always been his decision making or lack of awareness that’s been his downfall. I must say I was worried when I saw his name on the team sheet especially against the pace and power of Haaland. But man for man, I’d say that’s one of the few this season who’s really put it up to him, what he lacked in pace, he made up for body positioning and strength, won his headers etc. Both he and Botman were let down by their full backs yesterday.
  6. Fuck Pep, all that praise when he wins is so disingenuous, it’s all mind games to keep the pressure on the manager and players. You measure them as people when things aren’t going on and how they treat others, including journalists.. both him and Klopp are seriously lacking there.
  7. Isak isn’t going to get match fit without playing full matches. Unless they have a genuine concern that he’s going to get injured again. Think this spell is going to be tougher for Howe to get out of than escaping relegation to be honest. He’s made a few bad calls in recent weeks and I hate thinking that way because he’s been superb since arriving. Since January we’ve been on a decline. Now either we were much better before that point or probably more likely the other teams around us were worse and have improved significantly. So essentially there’s two paths of thinking, he’s either been doing the great job everyone has been saying but then recently has lost the edge a bit OR, his praise has been something of a false economy and essentially our dip/slide down the table is where we should be. It’s hard to accept that we could finish 7th or 8th after the season we’ve been having so I think Howe has to accept his part in that. Nobody has been forcing him to play out of form players.
  8. He’s supposed to be one of the quickest players in the league but wasn’t interested at all in taking on Walker. After his debut cameo, he’s shown virtually nothing. Still early days but it’s not unfair to be concerned.
  9. ? half our fucking squad are trying to figure out what their best position is. Not going to fully judge a player based on 1 start away at Man City, but Eddie Howe spent 45 million on this chap, he must have had a reason, I mean, surely he didn’t buy him to play on the left wing knowing he’ll cut infield again and again.
  10. Bruno hasn’t been that good either today. We’ve gone off the boil in every department.
  11. It’s likely we had someone lined up to replace in January. Whole thing scuppered by the little twerp.
  12. I mentioned before, the club had moves lined up in January, loan with obligation to buy. Would have required a slight drop in salary at the clubs involved. He declined and opted to pick up his wages for another 2 seasons. He’s got form for making bad decisions. He’s a very likeable lad but whoever is advising him is doing nothing for his reputation.
  13. Saying that, I’m not totally convinced by Isak.. wasn’t entirely sure what we were getting with him but currently not getting the best from him.
  14. Whilst I agree overall, in this case I think everything mentioned above, ie age, being injury prone and now possibly being physically limited due to covid will have seen his value drop. There would still be takers no doubt but at far more sensible numbers.

    Alexander Isak

Even though Wilson needs to be dropped, Isak isn’t the answer there. Those saying Gordon, Isak and Miggy should be up front, how lightweight do you want a front line?
  16. Bad bout of Covid, it might have been the second time he had it within a few months as well. Surely that takes it’s toll on energy levels and fitness. Can’t be pissed off at him, he’s still obviously trying, but something definitely missing. If I was Howe I’d consider letting him leave in the summer, 12-15m would be good business.
  17. Fact is they let us have the majority of possession and knew they could get us in trouble on the counter. Teams have been doing this for a while now. We don’t quite know what to do when teams are sitting back Individually some of the players regarded as our best, they haven’t been performing well for a while. Trippier has an obvious weakness in terms of raw pace now, but he’s making mistakes which are exposing this more now. Wilson has lost something.. not much of a threat anymore. Almiron had his hot streak.. not adding loads at this point. But just generally we were all huff and puff without much quality. It’s disappointing, can’t blame the players for effort.. it’s all there! I think a few tweaks, and we have to approach the summer window with a total lack of sentimentality. The manager has some tough calls to make if we’re to kick on.
  18. If can get 1, we’ll kick on from there. We’ve been good for the most part, just a brain fart few mins, similar to Liverpool.. few of them walking a tightrope, we need to expose it and run at them. Big halftime talk for Howe..
  19. Deflection or not, he was sitting on his arse almost.
  20. I know the right thing happened but man he would have been handy for a penalty tomorrow if it goes that way
  21. Surprisingly you are correct. SJP = 114.8 yd × 74.4 yd Wembley = 115 yd x 74 yd There are some differences between grounds, Anfield and Stamford Bridge are noticeably smaller. Man City’s pitch is bigger than Wembley.
