  1. It’s looking like happening now in fairness. But again, I’ll stay reserved enough until I see pictures of him holding the shirt.
  2. The original source which everyone is basing this update on is RMC Sport. How reputable are they?
  3. Pleased with this, hopefully others start to pay attention! Have a feeling this lad will make a mockery of the PL when he finds his feet.
  4. Why do you persist on spelling Benoît Badiashile‘s name wrong?
  5. It seems the ones who are procrastinating the most about coming here are the top younger talent. Perhaps to get from A-B or H or whatever, we should be looking more at older players who are still at a high level as short term options. Once we’re there, we won’t have as much trouble attracting any player.
  6. Holland always look good before a tournament starts and then the wheels come off.
  7. Who can afford Lewandowski? Can’t be that many clubs who could realistically take him on
  8. If Vince McMahon ran the PL..
  9. These rules which the “top 6” were so keen to introduce wouldn’t stand up to a legal challenge. Its a free market and as long as a deal isn’t just blatantly taking the piss with rules for linked organisations etc, or for example the club owners funnelling money to a sponsor to be just put back in the club, we should be fine with whatever kind of deal we can get. We’re currently way behind a number of clubs in terms of exposure and recent success so what we can get will be limited for now, we break top 6 or even top 4 and then those deals can be drastically renegotiated. Also if it meant a massive injection of bona fide cash into the club, I wouldn’t be opposed to renaming the stadium, it would have to be done in the most minimal way possible though.
  10. If he’s not sold on the club even after the way we finished the season then it’s not footballing reasons, as in the direction of the club. Maybe he feels he won’t get enough game time. Its coming across that he’s panicking as soon as a transfer gets close, he still is just a kid after all.
  11. Yes 100%, although I don’t like hearing about agents having so much input. Remember Anelka? He had his brothers involved iirc and they burnt plenty of bridges.
  12. No he wasn’t, he didn’t have the money. He also used a certain local dimwit journalist as a PR exercise to get his name out there.
  13. Nicked from Twitter. Am I missing something here or does this show that Targett is overall the solid option?
  14. He’s still very raw but he’s got bags of potential. Actually decent in the air and he’s gangly enough so that he can hold the ball up even against big defenders. Has a tendency to do something quite good and then just give the ball away needlessly but then he’s playing in a lesser side compared to most of the teams in that league. If he could simplify his game he could be Thierry Henry mkII
  15. One thing, the club have been very consistent in their targets. It’s why I think Botman is a goer too. This kid could literally be anything so it’s exciting because there’s no particular expectations.

    Miguel Almirón

It’s funny the perception that some people have of him, a Chelsea supporting friend thinks he’s “a proper player”, they don’t get to see him week in week out so it’s all based off one half decent performance. Needless to say was shocked when I replied, “nah he’s a bit shite for the most part” The most one footed player I’ve ever seen.
  17. It’s a long term strategic move, they might have to pay them compensation but it would be a small step backward to make a giant leap forward.
  18. It won’t/can’t be Fun88, for the fact that gambling is illegal over there and they want to be able to sell shirts.
  19. You can be sure the PL and other clubs wouldn’t be nearly as lenient with us. We’re going to have to be extremely tricksy to keep ahead of it.
  20. Unless Chelsea are to be suddenly run like how Mike Ashley ran us, that write off is simply kicking the can down the road. The club isn’t profitable enough to sustain the success it think it’s capable of achieving so they will continue to bleed money and their new American overlords will have a stroke when they see how much of their fortunes are diminishing trying to sustain it.
  21. Who’s better Ake or Botman? Ake has always looked decent when I’ve watched him but just didn’t quite seem to fit in with the style of play at City
  22. You can make a case that Lewis hasn’t had a chance yet but where say Joelinton showed signs of talent in there, I don’t think we can say the same in his case. I can’t remember one good game that he’s had in the shirt. You have to trust Howe but you’d really wonder what he’s seen to even consider him as an option instead of Targett
  23. The puma badge might have been on our shirts but the quality screamed “outsourced to a Sports Direct sweatshop” I’m fairly sure there had to have been some cheaper option the club took when they signed that deal.
  24. Some players just reach a point where it’s one injury too many and next thing they’re missing more than they play, and perhaps an unwillingness to play unless they are 100% Shearer for example had a couple of serious injuries but he was always back ahead of schedule and he never let it affect him because he was prepared to walk through walls for his club, there’s many other players who have the same ethos but an equal amount who don’t. You look at someone like Andy Carroll, not prepared to do that and a different attitude to carrying knocks etc. Dwight Gayle was flying for us, got injured and was never quite the same. It has to be a mentality thing. The question over DCL is which category does he fit into? The amount of time he’s missed over fairly innocuous things you’d have to question.
  25. Imagine, hiring one of the best people in their field of expertise and the club letting them implement their vision with full confidence.. what is this witchcraft?!
