On Dyer, I heard back in the day (around the same time there were rumours that he had HIV) that he actually in fact had hepatitis, which given his liver issues seems quite plausible now. Either way, a horrible thing to be living with. On poor auld Hugo, he got the thigh injury (hamstring) in February, suffered a breakdown with it in April and then again in June. Something is obviously very wrong there, he either got poor treatment from his club, or he hasn’t been following the rehab advice (which is another Pandora’s box..)

Ricky Gervais/Steve Coogan need to make a show about this prat trying to stay relevant. You wouldn’t even need a script, just let him think it was a documentary and run with it.

Demba Ba would cost 50-70m in todays market. He was class.

If it’s a serious tear he’ll be out for 3 months minimum. They need to do detailed tests on him, is it the same leg as before? It could just mean he didn’t get the right treatment at his current club and rushed back maybe. 4 months should be enough but it obviously wasn’t if it’s the same leg?

He’s 22, he’s got time on his side. He can sacrifice 1 season, I firmly believe with the right additions we could break top 4.. and next summer we sign some proper firepower.. he’s be in exactly the place he wanted to be in. If his agents are willing to talk to us I’m guessing they see the bigger picture too. We’re a better long term bet than Milan.
-
I don’t actually know that one, am afraid to ask ?
-
Did you ever see a mackem in Milan?

He ended up being sued by one of them. God that guy was such a fool when it came to those he hired. I can picture him absolutely shitfaced in the pub with some eejit with ideas bending his ear off, then the next morning writing down the bits he misremembered and coming up with it as a business strategy. If SD was private, he’d have ran it into the ground long before he bought this club.

For all the talent, something just seems off about this kid. If he’s repeatedly injured at 20 and then ends up homesick, could be a recipe for a Haris Vuckic style career.
-
PSG will be able to pay him at least 100k per week more than us as FFP doesn’t apply to them, apparently.
-
Sorry if Giggs but this account is class.
-
If he’s that good there’s no reason why we couldn’t.
-
It would have been wrong if the first signing wasn’t Targett. So happy this club is being run properly now, keep half expecting to wake up and it all being some sort of lucid dream.
-
So who will be his backup? Dummett or will Lewis get another chance in the squad?

All of this exists in the imaginations of attention seeking wannabe twitter celebrities, these transfers that are dragging on are the new takeover threads. It’s all bullshit. Ashworth has been in the job 2 days and he’s already moved on 1, potentially 2 of the deadwood players. Got a deal in place for Targett and possibly the young French lad. When he switches attention to Botman it will play out quickly. We’re behind in the proceedings, Milan have been trying to woo him for over a year and Maldini has openly communicated with him on Instagram. They don’t seem to want to match our bid though so if there’s so agreement between Milan and Lille, he’s not going there.

There’s a movie in the cinema at the moment called Men, one of the characters is definitely Dennis Wise

At least that goddamn 4 is gone. A change of sponsor would have been nice just for the obvious ties to the former regime but overall they haven’t been the worst, especially their social media posts.
-
For me it makes way more sense, we know he fits in here and he’s solid. Delighted if this is true.
-
The blue yellow looks tacky, the white is nice aside from the sponsor. Not sure about the home shirt yet.

“I just started yesterday but I’ve already had several conversations with Eddie” ? suuuuure
-
He’ll go for less. We probably enquired at 45m and they come back with 100, he’ll go for 60/65.
-
Good solution overall. He did well for us on occasion, only very poor a handful of times. Unhappy under Rafa, delighted under Bruce, it occurred to me that he wasn’t too committed to maintaining high levels or improving and I guess that’s what Eddie Howe saw as well. Good to see Ashworth clearing the decks straight away.
-
I don’t think he’s worth that much but he’s a very good player. Not worried about his height as he’s very aggressive in the air, same height as Coloccini iirc? What would give to have a player like that on our books again.
-
Too old, too expensive for the profile of player we’re looking at.
