  1. That nusem Dora (?) podcast did one about our game at Anfield that season where they actually said lots of generous things about us that year, and made lots of good points about the Tino myth and other things. Very knowledgable but a bit dry. One thing I always remember about TF is when they sneered at people who attacked Bamford for being privately educated. It’s not a big deal etc, and maybe it’s not, whatever. Of course a minute later one of them mentioned he had went to school with Bamford’s brother. of course he had A second is when that brummie prick casually said he hoped Newcastle got relegated, and even Richardson sounded annoyed at the lack of insight and impartiality.
  2. Can't stand that Brummie prick on Totally Football. Get the impression Richardson gets irritated with him too. Banging on with his stupid voice.
  3. Reading the Everton form, and even the ones that hate us are noting the quality of the atmosphere and noise. Two things: - It's going to be like that for a long time, isn't it? This year we're fighting for our lives, next year whatever we're doing it will be charged and intense, and the crowd are as obviously into it as the playing staff and owners. - All the years of sneers about our delusion...well, look what has happened. The richest investors in the world go with us and our crowds are already justifying their decision, nosily. So we were right all along. So that's good.
  4. The relative low-keyness of the Villa fixture could actually work in our favour. Everything on Tuesday will be frantic and loud; by contrast Villa in the early Sunday game could be one of those sleepy 1-0s that the rest of the county barely register.

More about the precedent it sets really.

I asked this the other day. What if a club with a survival bonus play that team on the final day with no incentive to win?

    Sunderland

The lowest moment for me in this respect was being in the concourse at the awful 5-1 loss at Selhurst Park and our fans singing about the I.R.A. and ISIS. Pure EDL shit and far removed from what I had always expected of our supporters.

I know we have played them twice and that part of the reason for doing this is because they are desperate for us not to survive, but does it not also set a dangerous precedent? Say we had them on the final day, with us needing a win to stop up and them having nothing to play for? Could they not just play a reserve team and pocket the cash? Are these type of clauses common?
