  1. Home kit now available for next day delivery on noon.com Only caveat is that you’d need to be in the UAE or KSA.
  2. My dodgy stick packs up when Rangers are playing. Probably because I bought it from a Glaswegian.
  3. Some of them might like the Red Sea, but the infrastructure isn't as developed around those resorts. Traffic is horrendous in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah. There's no countryside, only desert with a handful of archeological sites. I'd imagine a lot of the players' families would be discreetly based in the UAE or Bahrain.
  4. Been to a few in Saudi. They're bigger than you might expect and have all the mod-cons & shops etc, but the high walls and barbed wire make them feel like a gilded open prison. The roads and the air pollution will certainly put off a lot of their families.
  5. I live in Abu Dhabi. I never said I have lived in Saudi, but been probably over a hundred times over the years, sometimes for weeks at a time. Been to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Hofuf, Jubail, Yanbu, Tabuk, Arar and Abha. Abha's probably the most interesting place, but a little too close to Yemen for my liking. Yanbu's also quite nice if you're into scuba diving. Growing up in Liverpool would have prepared Gerrard for life in Dammam. It's a complete dump.
  6. Luxury compound or not, doesn't change the fact that the place is one of the most boring places on earth.
  7. Doesn’t even live in Dubai. Lives up the road in Ajman.
  8. Wasn't he wanting to go to Turkey at one point? He'd be perfect for that Istanbul upstart whose name escapes me which has lots of faded/jaded 'stars'. The one that has 50 year old Emre, etc.
  9. At the beginning of the season Noon used to sell our shirts on their website here in the UAE. Not anymore. How long is their current sleeve deal for? I still think it'll be Emaar. You often see their signage side by side in the Emaar constructed areas, such as the Marina.

Fair play to them. Would be happy for the Scouse Mackems to be replaced by the Originals for a year.
  11. Try finding a Castore kit outside the UK and Ireland. They're just a Poundland Under Armour. Having the distribution network of Nike or Adidas and an agreement on sales volumes like Liverpool have with Nike should be the way forward, particularly if we buy a Mitoma or Son.
  12. If it's an airline I think it could be Gulf Air; Bahrain are essentially a client state of KSA, have a brand new airport which is running below capacity and is often used as a hub for travel into various airports into/out of KSA, as well as weekend travel for Saudi nationals and foreign expats for its compelling local culture. Could also be Dubai-based Emaar who are co-owners of Noon.

FFS when his name popped up I feared the worst.
  16. If we added a degree of shithousery to our 95/96 campaign instead of being heart-on-the-sleeve everyone’s second team, I dare say we would have walked it. Entertainers my arse.
  17. His eyes looked very bloodshot during his post-match.

  19. https://www.arabnews.com/node/2207531/business-economy "Saudi Arabia is set to build one of the world’s largest airports in what will be a huge boost for the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global hub for trade and tourism, according to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. The King Salman International Airport, located in Riyadh, will have six parallel runways, and is expected to contribute SR27 billion ($7.18 billion) annually to Saudi Arabia’s non-oil gross domestic product. The airport will help drive annual passenger traffic in Saudi Arabia from the current 29 million to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with aircraft traffic in the Kingdom increasing from 211,000 to more than 1 million flights per year. With sustainability at its core, the new airport will achieve LEED Platinum certification by incorporating cutting edge green initiatives into its design and will be powered by renewable energy, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The development, set to be built by the Public Investment Fund, will include the existing terminals named after King Khalid, with the capacity to process 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050."
  20. Elche are owned by an Argentinian and have several more in their squad. He'll feel at home there.
