I see no reason to doubt Edwards' information that Barnes has suspended whatever processes are ongoing until the relegation picture is settled. As Ben Jacobs says, with relegation looming Ashley will need to evaluate his options too and this sort of decision sounds very much at his behest as much as the consortium's.

Looked up the 06-07 table and didn't realise we were only 5 points clear of 18th. His caretaker spell and the Uefa run the following season does put him up above most of the offerings by the majority of the managerial dross that followed him. Seems like a brilliant guy and will be sadly missed.

The real question you should be asking is why you feel the need to keep asking him. Trying to get people to give up their sources is the definition of cringe. His track record proves itself, literally hasn't put one piece of information on here that was wrong. That should be more than enough to just take the info and move on. Yeah but he's also a person who has his own opinions and beliefs just like we all do as supporters Not everything he posts is necessarily a goblet of information. Getting a leak about team news a few hours before a matchday is very different from having a source close to the arbitration process.

Agreed, not a chance this is ever going to happen. Only hope now really is AS and the Reubens pooling together to try to buy the club on their own, but it remains to be seen if they have the means or interest in doing that.

Unless there's anything new (substantial information) that has completely went past me I fail to see why a relegation is such a bad thing for a takeover. In my mind I've already embraced relegation, and hope that we don't succeed in getting straight back up too so that the club becomes a financial burden to Ashley. One of the best indicators that a takeover isn't happening is the fact Bruce is still here.
