  1. Surprised I hadn't seen this before, he claims Alex is a big Newcastle fan too? 8:20, the rest is more of the same "keep plodding along" etc
  2. I watched a few Coaches Voice videos earlier but I regret that now knowing competence is everything we lack. They're all so prepared and insightful, speaking with justification and confidence but here we are (not for the first time, it isn't surprising) thinking what if?
  3. Not only a clone, bordering a worse one! Premier League stats only - but if you factor all competitions that's 1 loss for Carver extra and 2 extra for Bruce 3 wins, 4 draws and 12 losses in 19 (13 points) Carver 2 wins, 5 draws and 10 losses in 17 (11 points) Bruce

RTG's already had a 4 page thread on about how we're reacting
  5. Even if "the stats" regarding points haven't been too dissimilar since we were promoted, the most striking thing was we picked up in the second half when form matters. The first half doesn't decide the future of the club for a year, but falling apart in the second has disastrous consequences which I don't think some people appreciate enough - even if it seems blindingly obvious
  6. Such a changing picture I don't know what to believe

    Joelinton

It's a confidence thing according to the patriotic bunch blindly supporting his every move - "if the fans didn't hate on him he'd play better, he'd have the confidence to shoot etc"

I call it the 'League 1 and 2 cup' if only a reminder that, even if they are promoted and win the thing, it took them three attempts to win it and three attempts to get out the league and that's before mentioning the reserves they play!
  9. "We've done OK of late. In the last few games we've only lost to Chelsea and Man U and put in some decent displays. We kick off on Friday night, let's hope we can go and get a result and it will help us enormously." I might as well not have bothered it's all the same

  11. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-takeover-relegated-what-happens-20045846 "As reported on Monday on Chronicle Live, the time scale is unclear in terms of a final decision from Ashley's court battle, although some observers believe it could drag on, even into 2022 if there were unforeseen delays." Alternatively - we are probably not appealing which puts the wheels in motion fairly soon for arbitration to start (yes PIF and Inter is a minority stake like he said earlier, not majority like with us. They want value, not vanity crucially which the thread mentions)
  12. "DH: Contrary to reports, it was not £4m that the Owls received in compensation for Bruce and his coaching staff. The figure was lower than that but still a significant amount. Things may become clearer on how Wednesday intend to use that money when the financial accounts for the 2018/19 season are revealed this summer." DH is Dom Howson from Yorkshire Live, so their equivalent of Ryder? Tells you a lot tbh if true - also the accounts were delayed half a year so they weren't revealed last summer but only now
  13. We sacked McClaren 28 games in, it was too late. The teams in 19th 18th and 17th were separated only by goal difference. We're not sacking Bruce, yet 18th, 17th and 16th are separated only by 1 point. Props everyone for clocking it this early in, but I fear it's too late again
  14. Arbitration hasn't happened yet it's not as bad as it looks like on the surface! A commitment to getting the takeover passed is significant as it shows all parties do want it through they are at the table if a pathway is cleared, so no "fakeover" talk or whatever. But it is a minor setback - though the hearing stage might be imminent if they've had to settle on all the details before? Though if it isn't out publicly we won't hear until a decision I guess next
  15. Some of these quotes are incredible... We have been told Bruce was 'shoulder-barging' into Ritchie but the player did not retaliate physically. The 60-year-old was allegedly infuriated by Ritchie calling him a 'coward' and said to him: 'After all I've done for you.' Sources say Ritchie, who was awarded a new contract last year, responded by saying: 'You've done f*** all for me,' before telling Bruce he was a 'coward' and that he was 'done' with him. Bruce is then understood to have said: 'What are you going to do? Tell Lee Charnley?' One source said: 'There has long been an inquest into who has been leaking stories from the training ground and the manager has stood back and watched players and staff accuse each other, yet he is the biggest leak of all. Most of the players do not trust him and do not like him.' Several players want new assistant boss Graeme Jones to take charge until the end of the season, believing he represents their best chance of avoiding relegation. Bruce, it is claimed, even told some players that he thought Jones was to blame for the tactical mix-up that led to Wolves' goal. This spread among the squad on Tuesday and was met with a response of, 'It's never his fault'.
  16. I remember Moyes being a favourite for the job when the McClaren sacking rumours surfaced and he was receptive to the move until the Rafa alignment happened. Crazy a year on he relegated those down the road instead!
  17. Sometimes I wish this thread was locked until we heard something definitive. What use is it speculating over hypothetical technicalities for or against this deal?
