This site is amazing for answering the trolls who tell us to respect Ashley, it's an evidence-driven site disputing all the myths. Here's the media ban section which has some fresh content to add to it now https://nufc-ashlies.blogspot.com/2020/03/media-bans.html

Think this has been put somewhere else, isn't even shocking knowing us (was said yesterday?)

(stating the obvious... if a takeover happens then maybe)

Jones is happening then

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/must-read-steve-bruce-interview-19683863 When asked if he had held any dialogue with the powers that be about an ultimatum, Bruce told the Chronicle Live: "It is absolutely the biggest pile of ***** I have ever heard." "I give respect. When I see polls, the next manager and the fella from Bournemouth, I find it disrespectful, I have to tell you. "Your paper (the Chronicle) was gunning for a manager that got a team relegated last year." "When you are on a bad run, of course, accept it. "But some of the stuff has bordered on being outrageous. "However, I am big enough to accept it and try to understand and work so we can get out of the bad run we're in." "Some of it is unbelievable (Press coverage) and maybe people need to change and give the club a little bit of respect rather than always being negative. "Everything is negative, some has been vile. "Unless that changes it doesn't matter who will sit here, anybody could. That is why it is so difficult."

I watched the whole of the pre-match conference on the club site, they've hidden that one away if he's said that earlier. Tends to fit in with the 5pm embargo if true, what an idiot. Rafa was about mentality and about progression, seeing a vision which is being realised in China. Results almost come secondary to transformation and I'm so happy he's being backed with Dalian, even if there's been understandable difficulties on the pitch. Bruce, he's just grateful to be here and his insecurity is really showing now

Bits tend to get embargoed these days, 5pm maybe 7pm sometimes will bring about the best of quotes

"Yet every time with Rafa it was impossible – there was always another thing, and the next thing, and the next thing. He asked for a 50 per cent pay increase and I think he did that because he knew it couldn’t work. And if we had agreed to that, I think it would have been something else." That Daily Mail interview in the summer of 2019 when Rafa left, reminder. No wonder he's happy to have someone who's just grateful to be here / also Rafa had every right to leave after his ambitions obviously weren't being met since his contract was expiring and I don't blame him at all for it

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-bruce-newcastle-united-job-19672162 "By simply getting on with the job and not making a fuss over the lack of funds or resources, he has brought himself more time with Ashley." Being a yes man affords you time with Ashley, tragic we're still keeping him on... and they've no confidence we'd go back up if we were relegated "And just as tellingly there is a fear behind the scenes that should the club drop into the Championship they may not be as fortunate to bounce back at the first time of asking like 2010 and 2017."

Fun quotes in this one https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-bruce-responds-bruce-out-19634517 Bruce added: "For those who think I'm going to walk away - I ain't. "I never will walk away from a challenge. "For those who think I am not good enough to manage Newcastle, some of them have said it from day one. "I have been in there and nearly managed 500 games at this level and if you look at the teams that I have managed in this league I have managed to do OK, down the road (Sunderland), Wigan, Birmingham and Hull. "I've given them the highest finishes they have ever had. "I am never going to be everybody's cup of tea which I have said repeatedly, the one thing I will never do is give in, and I will have a team that eventually mirrors what I am looking for. "That is the aim as long as I sit here."
