Away goals to be scrapped in Europe - are you for or against?
Candi_Hills replied to Wullie's topic in Football
Knockout competition. 1 leg and it's the luck of the draw whether you're home or away. Barca away to Zenit in the first round. -15 degrees. -
Keith made some very interesting comments regarding his role in all of this. He spoke of conversations with Amanda Staveley and said that she wanted someone to front a fan led campaign. Remember those murmurings last year that NCSL was being funded by the buyers? All very interesting. He also said that he's been told by QC O'Donoghue that the PL are knackered if it gets to disclosure. I don't know how true that is but at least you know where his confidence comes from.

Just finished watching Ben vs Keith. I don't know how anyone could watch that and think anybody won or made the other look daft. We simply don't have the information, either relating to the case or as lawyers ourselves, to know who sits in a stronger position. One example: Ben saying MBS lobbied the government and Keith saying he didn't. First you have to understand what would constitute lobbying this case (I don't). Then you have to consider all the legal precedent, the context and all the other information the lawyers are going to be leaning on (I know none of that either). Then you have whatever dodgy corrupt shit is going to be piled on top of the legal case (I daren't think). You're talking world class legal personnel combing through a highly complex case, which itself going to be tarred with corruption and lobbying, and then you've got people sitting here with 2% of the case material at their disposal beating away at their gavels. In months gone by I argued the toss that Amanda and PIF were still trying to buy club when Fanny and the gang were saying "Mike just wants compo". That much I felt confident about saying. I'm out when it comes the details of the legal case though. I haven't got a sodding clue who has the stronger case.

What was the context of those tweets? What nurrts is he talking about?

I'm pessimistic about it happening purely because we're NUFC. I think the cartel will manage to pay off the right people. But.. - Mike is trying to sell us. In fact, he's hellbent on getting a sale. - The 3 party consortium do still want to buy us. - Keith's a top bloke who's put his own time and effort into helping NUFC. I don't care if he's a bald, uncool gobshite or not. - We are going to court for a sale and we probably do have a strong legal case. - The delays are frustrating but make perfect sense in the context of what has happened and you don't need a conspiracy to explain them. - We aren't being lied to or fobbed by anyone. Unless you happen to follow Burnsie. - The deal is ON inasmuch as it's being fervently pursued. The Bin Zayed deal is dead in the water. This deal clearly isn't.

Willock might do a Kennedy if we sign him. Go from mint to shite in one summer.

Big Jow, Frazer, Wilson, Max + Miggy and he’s working with about £120m of attacking talent, most of it spent by him. And he inherited one of the best drilled defences in the league. And we were clearly all at sea until Graham Jones came in and shook things up a bit. 12th position flatters him massively. He’s utter shit.

I think we're wasting our time trying to guess how strong Newcastle's legal case is or isn't. We have only a few titbits of public information to go on and people who work in the legal field are able to offer only broad speculation. Just be encouraged by the fact that it's Mike Ashley who wants this deal and he's a rotten git who has to have his way.

Everyone takes the piss out of Sunderland because it hasn't had any money chucked at it but I still love a good humdrum town.

Whatever makes you think that?

From a young age Gazza blamed himself for the death of two of his childhood friends. His problems run way deeper that getting caught up in the bright lights of the city.

I'd say that there's more corruption at the bottom level in Asia (not sure about Indonesia). Paying people off is part of the culture. Parents will give teachers money to favour their child. Surgeons accept additional cash with promises of doing a good job. People slip each other packets of money for all sorts of reasons that we don't even think about here in Britain. Maybe, that's how they put the corruption index together. If you're talking institutional corruption though, we'll take anybody on.

Simon Jordan is a multimillionaire. Why is he even on the radio? He should sniffing cocaine off women’s arses in Gibraltar.

Regular application of vagicool can prevent sticking.

Geordie Dentist had no news. It was bollocks. Keith has been good patter so far though.

I agree. And how is it possible to have an independent media career without being a self-promoter? Media is self-promotion. The vicar stunt was absolutely mental though. Worse than the fella who chinned a horse.

His is a good defender and I agree with everything you've said. Every manager he's played for has been a fan of him. I like a good footballer as much as anyone but Dummett doesn't deserve half the stick he gets on here. When we're hanging on at the end of games and they're chucking everything at us, I'm always glad he's in there.
