I'd sign that shithouse that got the red to stomp on Bruce. Other than that I dunno. This match makes me miss FM. Last one I played was 17, always used to try and raid Argentina at the start on 48month clause - Tagliafico, Bentancur, Ascacribar, Lautaro Martinez
-
Any players playing that'll be heading for European bigtime next? Don't play FM anymore, so no idea who anyone outside PL is now.

Recon he'll go Palace next season after Hodgosaurus finally retires. Last, and only club job was 12 years ago taking Boro down. Been institutionalised within the FA for best part of a decade - only focusing on coaching in perfect conditions, with top players afforded to him. Dread to think what he'd have Dummett and Hendrick doing. Watching England last year has been painful, finally stopped watching last International break. Best attacking players we've had in years, yet slow and poorly coached now. Five at the back, wing backs don't get high anymore, two holding midfielders going sideways, Mount in a front 3, Trippier giving only width on left as a right footer. He's far too defensive and negative, tactically blind (see Croatia semi) He's a younger, Savile Row Bruce, albeit with 'modern coaching ideas'.

Same result. That's all pundits will see when they look back at wor Stevie's results - doing a good job. Won't see us entrenched in our own third for 93mins, and have our first shot on goal from a dubious penalty given in very last second. Shows the level of punditry these days doesn't it. Agbonlahor/Savage/Sutton provide the perfect storm of having played for him (so clearly like him), and being specialists of low-iq punditry. Think the greater footballing media are finally waking up to see that he isn't doing a good job any more. They obviously know he's a low-quality/limited manager, they've all been around football enough - just it's not the done thing to ever say so, or need to toe a particular agenda. Honestly Collymore is the only pundit I've seen give non-biased, accurate analyses of him; and it's pretty damning of him due to its accuracy.

That Kamara would be brilliant if he could play football
-
So much more quality in their side; quicker and more energy in everything they do compared to us. Haven't watched them in ages, remember them playing decent stuff at start of season but being awful at the back.

It'll be someone British. Rafa was a curveball to Ashley's usual approach. If we were going to hire someone similar to Rafa, we'd have already done it/been able to instead of giving Tubby McGee a job. Lee Clark, Sol Campbell, Woodgate, Monk
-
Didn't Gerrard turn it down? Next manager odds. Howe and Rafa seem really low, and Bruce was 4/1 today for next sacked. Don't usually pay too much attention to odds and betting, but they next managers seem really low. Could Brucie be actually close to a booting 7/2 - 5/2 Eddie Howe 3 Rafa 15/2 Steve Cooper 10 Blanc 14 AVB 15/2 Shearer 20 Allegri 25 KK, Naglesman, Emery, Spalleti, Favre

Who? Lampard, Rodgers and? Parker, Lampard, Nuno (Guardiola, and was Arteta coached at Barca too?)
-
I think it works with England Been painful to watch last year or so, need to go back to 433. Stones looking back to his best is a bonus, should go straight back in. Ditch the Henderson/Rice due of safety. Pick either one, or preferably Phillips - Foden/Mount ahead, then Kane, Grealish, Rashford Darlow deserves a call up, but honestly wouldn’t want him getting injured!
-
Best Newcastle result/performance he'll ever be involved
-
Wish we had an England manager that wasn't another one of those five at the back cretins. So much attacking quality wasted - England could actually be quite exciting with Foden and Grealish in the same side.
-
Shearer would have scored it. He loved a freekick in the box

By all accounts we should just be grateful to be allowed to compete against top sides like Leicester, Villa, and Everton. That's Bruce's attutude, coming straight from the top of the club, and prevalent around the media. Heaven forbid we should expect to beat anyone. We've just stagnated under Ashley; used to be on the same standing as Spurs, if not bigger. Their trajectory has steadily progressed on and off the pitch each year and the club is unrecognisable to what it was 15 years ago. Whilst Ashley hasn't run us into the ground on a financial sense, he's destroyed us sporting wise. He's squandered unprecedented wealth afforded to him by the PL, and let everything but the balance sheet rot. Was embarrassing to see Leicester's new training ground. Used to be in League 1 not to long ago, won the league and all.

Could have been better if that brainlet Agonlahor was sat opposite him
-
Bet that article has been in the pipeline for a few weeks. Only scuppered by the fact Marcus Rashford has been playing quite well. Could have scored one in off his arse last night, and he'd have had to put delay for another week. Aye, he must be careful. Don't see that he isn't anyway. Every footballer/working professional has to be careful to strike the right balance between work/life. It's not even if he's playing badly, one of the first names on teamsheet of a side that's just gone top of the league. Personal and petty drivel.

It's good to laugh sometimes

His next gig will be hosting Man vs Food ...... "I'll never walk away from a challenge" Stuffing his face with bugs and spiders on a Bush Tucker Trial "pass the garlic mayo Ant..."
-
"I'll never walk away from a challenge" also said by Steve Bruce after walking away from Hull "My biggest regret is having to walk away... I desperately wanted to make it work this summer and be a Premier League manager again but, sadly, it wasn't to be." Couldn't find any quotes on him leaving Sheff United, but said in interview with Athletic "Sky came in with a very good offer. They wanted me to be a full-time pundit in the Premier League..."

Ben Afra didn't tear-arse round clattering blokes but he wasn't lazy either. He closed people down better than Ginola and Robert combined. I reckon he probably was an arsehole to work with generally but that's where man management comes in and where Pardew and Bruce were found lacking. I still hate Pardew more than Bruce. Bruce is more a buffoon, a bit like Frank Spencer or Chief Wiggum, whereas Pardew is truly evil, like Josef Stalin or Mark Lawrenson. I'd have him more Uday Hussian - plenty of power, nightclubs, strippers and sex without ever actually doing anything to deserve it.

What is it then? Which other managers use it? Similar to false 9, positioned behind the strikers but rather than primarily skilled on the ball moves a lot without it, for exemple drifting out wide to create space for other players. Think Özil. Found this: https://thefalse9.com/2015/11/football-tactics-for-beginners-the-false-10.html Not a chance he was playing Longstaff in that role, he'd be useless at it Interesting about that Zone 14 bit in there... We are truly useless at attacking and defending that part of the pitch. Even last night SU were passing it past and through Hayden/Hendrick into the space, with 3 CBs just sitting so deep. Leicester destroyed us by isolating how square Shelvey and Longstaff were the other week. Attacking wise, it's non-existent. No rotation of forward players into pockets, no overloads, no playing between opposition lines. That sort of pattern of play is evident in even teams near the bottom - Brighton, Fulham, SU, even Palace!
-
Pretty much sums up why Bruce has never, and will never manage at the top level of the game. It's his job as a manager to harness that talent, and coax the work ethic and hard work out of a player. He should know that more than anyone, he played with Cantona and Fergie was a master of it. Blokes talking out of his arsehole anyway, judging what Geoff Horsfield says about Duggary at Birmingham...

Some of his stats this season are atrocious; In 11 apperances - Big Chances Created - 1 Passes per match - 30 Through Balls - 0 Tackles - 5 Tackle success - 40% Crosses - 3 https://www.premierleague.com/players/8586/player/stats?co=1&se=363
