  1. Do you not think Bruno would have been training in that set up also in case there was an injury. Sorry that’s bollocks that mind
  2. Got to play Bruno now. Why bring in someone like Murphy when Joelington can probably do a better job on the wing and you can have a ball player in the midfield who is champing at the bit. You can’t keep leaving a top rated player on the bench, he has to come in if Max is out
  3. Not saying he’s wrong (don’t really know who he is), but are any of the more recognised journalists reporting it?
  4. People (imo) are kidding themselves if the think that the owners will look to do work on the east stand as the logistics and cost will be horrendous even if they could do something. Can’t see the owners wanting to have a season playing at another ground either. The cost for a few 000s extra seats in the Gallowgate makes it probably not worth extending either (those plans have been discussed going back to the Hall/Shepherd era and it’s been counted as not a cost effective solution). I know people disagree, but seems to me the best option would be to build a new 70-80000 stadium within the city centre limits. This would also open commercial revenue streams via increased concerts. The way St James’ is set, it is a no go for a lot of the big acts due to stage restrictions. it will be minimum of 2-5 years before any plans are put into place anyway as obviously the training ground/academy will be first port of call. Obviously something will have to be done as tickets will be like gold dust moving forward. Going to be interesting though to see what they do actually decide to do.
  5. Normally I would say they would get maybe one or two points out of that total, however Spurs and Leicester are not in great form at the moment, so you maybe right
  6. The one on our takeover when it happened was a canny read also. Don’t know if anyone has the link for it but think it starts from page 340 or 369 if I remember right
  7. The all in love for Keano has definitely gone now I see
  8. It wasn’t Man Utd they sold out to, the only time they did was us. They only had 31500 for their semi final with them and that was including 9000 Man Utd fans.
  9. I just don’t see any of the other three teams getting enough points. Not saying we’re brilliant by any means, but they all look very poor. We are also now in a position where we can look to overtake other teams, which was only a long shot three weeks ago.
  10. Our average attendance since the Level 7 extensions were built is edit: over 48,000, this includes a period of 14 years under Ashley and two relegations. If we can get that many after the Ashley years, then I'm quite confident we can fill a new stadium.
  11. Got to do one or the other though, otherwise a large number of fans are going to miss out including (importantly) the next generation.
  12. I stick by my comments, of course I respect your opinion.
  13. No it’s to give the opportunity for supporters (now and future) to go to games as the demand will increase (it already has). To me the two most important things about the club are the team and then the support. Unfortunately St James’ is not able to cater for the future increased demand to attend games. Everyone would love for it not to be the case, but due to listed buildings it isn’t. I accept some won’t agree though.
  14. Yeah totally agree, obviously it’s a shame but the demand is going to force the issue in the future.
  15. Or is it Wee Phillie or what the fuck his name is?
  16. Personally I would go for a 70-80k new stadium as it’s impossible to get St James’ up to that amount and the cost of even adding 6-7k to the Gallowgate end would be massive. It’s a shame, but the listed buildings make it virtually impossible to create a stadium to meet the demand. Don’t think anything will happen for at least two years anyway and more likely five years.
  17. Im not too sure. Don’t think the decision will be anytime soon anyway, however if we do get to be challenging on all fronts, then I don’t think they will have any choice. The cost for extending a few thousand will be massive, would make more sense building a modern all purpose 70-80 thousand new stadium. Think it will be at least two years before they put plans in place anyway. Training ground is the priority.
  18. Good question, but I honestly believe that the team will be more balanced and better with him in it. Personally though it seems harsh, it would be Shelvey currently, as although Joelington becomes an absolute mess in the last third, he puts more pressure onto the opposing midfield. Willock is the one player who we need to get into the box, and that's the only reason also I would play him before Shelvey.
  19. Still think Bruno will be the perfect player to stop teams from dictating games. We are still struggling to have 40% possession in games and I think he would be a massive solution to this.
  20. Aye, this is my thinking also.
  21. It's a well known fact that the owners have been in communication with the council, before even when the takeover was first disclosed. I'm pretty sure that the Council will be bending over backwards to assist in any re-location. It also suits the Council massively to keep the stadium within the city centre location.
  22. I think they would be looking to build a new stadium and using St James' as normal until it is built. I think it's asking a hell of a lot asking supporters to make a 5 hour round trip, for probably one maybe two seasons, whilst the new ground is (using current ground infrastructure) being built, especially when there is no need to do that.
  23. Aye, I reckon 33 would be enough this year (in fact I think the other 3 teams will struggle to get 30 points). I was expecting to be at least 6 points behind 4th bottom come January and with not much hope of staying up, so it's a massive bonus we are now 4 points clear. Really we shouldn't be getting relegated now from this position.
  24. A few of them might join the cause and have a shit in their seats as a sign of protest.
