  1. Palace in 13th on 26 points was the only team within the drop zone to reach that total last year.
  2. That's not the point, you're going on about time, it could be weeks and months before he is maybe available. Which is exactly the point I was making, you can't hold out appointing someone on a wing and a prayer.
  3. So why wait for Rafa then which was the point you made to which I answered to?
  4. So they're going to change their whole current process of speaking to and interviewing managers on a wing and a prayer? I agree they can't go weeks and I fully expect we will have an announcement this week.
  5. Even 6 points come January is realistic also. If it extends though between now and then, it has to be a concern as that's 3 clear games to make up.
  6. You can't run a club on hope and predictions man, I'm quite sure that the owners won't be either.
  7. Might well do and especially by January. It's only right that we get the right appointment (not sure we will due to our current position), but every week that passes, the chances of that gap widening are very real. We have a run of games coming up, where there is the possibility of a few points (not saying we will mind); failure to do so will leave the task of staying up pretty bleak imho. We shall see what this week brings though.
  8. 14 years of Ashley looks like it's had the effect on the mindset of a lot of fans, that nothing but negative things will ever happen to the club. Of course they would'nt sell, relegation has been in the background throughout the duration of their takeover attempt..
  9. Yes exactly we are, due to the manager and coaching staff not being fit for purpose.
  10. Like Brentford did only 3 weeks ago against a full strength Chelsea team in a very undeserved defeat.
  11. Under Ashley every man and their dog knocked the job back (11 at last count) after Rafa, unless your name was Steve Bruce. Just think that no manager with any ambition would have worked for Ashley at that time.
  12. Was he overlooked? As I recall at the time, it was reported he had knocked us back.
  13. I honestly think they were not expecting anything until the Summer at the earliest. They have been caught with their pants down (especially the UK side I believe), however I do have some sympathy in this. Needs to be sorted now though as we’re not in a position to keep waiting.
  14. Not sure he is as I think he would have been in already by now. I honestly think they are trying to get somebody already in a job currently. Going to be interesting this week to see what happens.
  15. Funny you mention Brentford, they actually showed exactly how you should play against a Chelsea team (at full strength). Yes they got beat, but actually had Chelsea on the ropes for large periods of the game. You cannot allow teams of the quality Chelsea have, to practically walk unchallenged up to your box and then have the space to pick a pass at will. The top teams nearly always find a way in the end.
  16. He would probably turn round and say Schar was available. I would argue back though that nearly half of that team shouldn’t have been on the pitch in the first place.
  17. Probably be that way until the right people are in post.
  18. Rather have Potter than Martinez and for the position we’re in, it’s not a bad shout
  19. Yeah I’m in same boat, not a great fan, but he’s certainly a better option than any of those three.
  20. Well you should know all about that level, the amount of years you have been there.
  21. I’d be shaking my head if he is, as it just makes no sense all round. Of course I would back him. It would probably show that the position we are in is a poison chalice to all of the top name managers. So frustrating this takeover didn’t go through in the Summer.
  22. He got 14 yeal of sponsorship which usually costs an absolute fortune for fuck all. He hasn't done too badly out of it at all.
  23. So why don't you go to the Almiron thread then and whine about it,
  24. With Bruce's new contract, a team facing relegation and the sports direct signs, I'm amazed PIF didn't just tell him to fuck off. Lucky for us they didn't mind.
