  1. I didn't realise it was a Puke article, fuck that then as he will be the last person the conortium would give inside info to.
  2. Just can't see that being a problem. It will be one going in low ball, one going in high ball and then meet in the middle somewhere. Don't think money will ever be an issue again when they have set their sights on someone.
  3. His win % at all the clubs he has been at is pretty impressive. He was the one I wanted from the start, so I would be over the moon if we do get him.
  4. I do hope it's further down the line than 'serious consideration', I expect it is mind.
  5. "It has been said (but I haven't seen it proven) that Bede wrote about "the coal miners of the parishes of Monkwearmouth and Jarrow who name themselves Geordie". This was 600 years before newcastle was founded." FFS man and no it's not Sir Ricky either.
  6. Both players are going to have very similar careers possibly due to one single thing attitude.
  7. He is a liability all round and that’s not going to improve.
  8. It’s not, I said that on here before the season even started that I didn’t think it would end well, I will be very surprised if he’s still manager next season.
  9. Plus the fans hate him in the main.
  10. As I’ve said a few times that wouldn’t get through a court challenge if they did, the Premier League have set the bar already saying that PIF are separate from the state, so what are they going to disqualify them on?
  11. Well that half will add another 500 posts to the mackem NUFC thread
  12. Currently I think it will be the Chairman making the final decision based on the recommendations of the other consortium members/advisers. You would hope the consortium members/advisors have came to a consensus. In future it will be the DOF.
  13. The most laughable thing is seeing them post about human rights, murderers etc., then within the very next post they are discussing who we will get as manager, the owners not doing a good job since the takeover, FFP, the civil war () and other shit. As I mentioned last week, the vast majority (nearly all) were mentioning nothing about the Saudi state when PIF originally put the 'pulling out' statement, they were only laughing that we would not be the next Man City. If they had posted then about the Saudi issues, I would have said fair enough, however they didn't. They are jealous, fewming and above all shitting themselves and that is the only reason we have seen over 20,000 posts since the takeover was announced.
  14. Might be wrong totally, but just get the feeling that the length of time it has taken, possibly suggests they are trying to get somebody currently in a management position. If it's Howe, Lampard, Terry (no thanks to all 3), Favre or Fonseca, then you would imagine they would be in already (again just opinion and guesswork). My one big concern is Martinez as I think he would be a total disaster of an appointment. Emery or ten Hag are the other two, who woud need a lot of conviction and guarantees from the owners plans and long term project also, to even consider the role (imho). Don't think Conte would even consider a team in our position. Benitez is too loyal to leave Everton (I think their board will give him the full season also). Outsider could be Mourinho, although he has already said (like Rafa), that he is staying. Since the takeover has happened, the total decimation of the infrastructure, investment, manager/coaching and most importantly the team by Ashley over the last 14 years is being fully demonstrated in full scale. Just wish this takeover had happened in the summer (not rocket science I know mind). We will just have to see what happens, but just have a feeling (gut) there maybe some disappointiment across the fanbase when the next manager is announced. Anyone from Favre, Fonseca, Emery or ten Hag and I think that's quite a statment for the position we are currently in. Got a horrible sneaky feeling it will be Howe or Martinex though, hope to god I am worng.
  15. That performance and team selection on Saturday was probably worse than anything under Bruce or at best, equally as bad. Some trying to justify it, nope that was horrendous.
  16. Let’s just wait and see what happens first. You don’t have a clue what’s going on behind the scenes. It’s a massive problem taking over a club with only minimal notice, before you get into the problem of trying to convince a top level manager to take over a team 2nd bottom, with an array of championship players. The proof will be in the pudding as they say.

    The old days

The first and only time in my life when I loved a current Sunderland player. Alan Brown brilliant on his short loan with us, him and Varadi were fearsome together in that short spell. Always remember one of the best games I’ve seen at St James ever during that spell, against Luton (who won that league that year), won 3 - 2, Brown scored twice to put us 2 - 0 up, Luton scored twice in last ten minutes, before Varadi got a last minute winner. End to end all game, fabulous match.
  19. The only saving grace is that Watford, Leeds and Burnley have games that you would also expect them to lose.
  20. Mentioning Willock, I can probably count on one hand the amount of times he has got into the box this season. Last season he was getting in the box on numerous occasions every game.
  21. If you have a look at last season at the same stage Brighton in 16th had 10, then 12th - 15th had between 13 - 14 points. Don't think teams lower table have had good starts at all looking at that.
  22. Very rare a team goes down with 40 points
  23. Some are saying he already has been, similar to Bruce with no immediate announcement if true
