Take the point, but we all know that was abysmal. Get new manager and coaching staff and brush Jones and co out asap -

Need to get a proper manager and coaching staff asap and bin Jones and co. That first half showed me exactly what I’ve been saying for weeks, that Jones is just as much part of the problem. That was total wank, absolutely no plan whatsoever in the attacking third. -
Bruce for Norwich maybe a possibility soon

I actually burst out laughing when I saw that team. Fucking hell man that team is horrific -
I got the impression that the mystery man would emerge as the one who would be coming in. I honestly think all possibilities will have been approached and sounded out by now. Only Ando can confirm that though, but he’s probably waiting for the 24 hour notice stage like Bruce
-
Ando is the boy and he said a surprise name. I actually don’t think it will be Fonseca and the Mirror have been wrong about practically everything relating to us.
-
I just want to know if it's a good surprise or a bad surprise.
-
If that is the case, then it suggests the owners are not convinced by Fonseca.
-
You're correct on your last part, the options would certainly increase and rbe better. I'm just not convinced at all that Jones would provide safety.
-
The most important thing this year is to stay in the division. If Jones can get results on a regular basis to achieve that (I personally very much doubt it), then that's fine.
-
Think you will find the majority will be ok with it this time also, however we will have to just wait and see. As I said a respect your opinion.
-
I respect your opinion, it's good that things are actually being discussed instead of the pile on we had for 18 months. Remember, building a new stadium was also John Hall's first choice. He only didn't do it as a result of the timescale involved with planning permissions and such. It's not a new thing and the majority back then ok with it.
-
I'm the total opposite as I would rename the ground (with St James' Park included) to give immediate increased revenue short term until they built a new stadium, which would then further increase the revenue. Be interesting having a poll to see initial opinion.
-
If they did great, looks like the owners are not thinking the same way though judging by yesterday’s exclusive from Hope. Personally I can see exactly why they are also and the fact that St James’ Park will still be there in the stadium name is a no brainer also. No doubt we will soon find out clearer plans in the not too distant future from the consortium.
-
Wealth is not a factor under FFP (look at Everton’s budget this Summer even though they have one of the richest set of owners). You have to massively increase the revenue streams via sponsorship and commercial deals to allow you to spend that wealth.
-
Are season ticket holders not members also? I include membership as there are people who are not season ticket holders (work/family commitments) who still go to games.
-
It’s not the 20 mill per year to spend on a player. It’s the increased revenue streams which allow you via FFP to spend 100 million on one player in one year not five years. PIF can outspend any club on transfer fees, but they need revenue streams via commercial and sponsorship deals to increase massively to be able to get round FFP.
-
Sounded to me when he was talking about the owners, that he has had communication with them.
-
Thing is without these sponsorship deals you probably won’t have “good footy’ at SJP as they massively need to increase revenue streams to allow spending through FFP. That’s the fact of the matter in the current market. We are already massively behind other clubs revenue streams due to Ashley. The new owners know exactly that it will be a touchy subject, but are still putting it out on the table (it seems) at an early stage, they’re not going to do that on a whim.
-
Wonder how they will get a vote on it? Not the Trust as they’re only concerned about their ‘members’, not a public vote as you will get other clubs fans and mackems voting, so I would guess it would be carried out using the club’s own membership.
-
Without a doubt, if we want to seriously think about challenging and winning stuff then we have to make sure we increase revenue via sponsorship and commercial deals to combat FFP. I think people forget that John Hall’s first choice was to move stadium. It’s the modern game now and you have to increase revenue to even think of moving forward as we’re miles behind. The new owners are doing it correctly by asking the support and keeping the St James’ Park within the naming rights. It’s a definite yes from me and judging by the majority of responses I’ve seen from long term supporters in my family and friends group and even through social media, looks like they will get the majority support for this. I also think ultimately in the not too distant future, that there will be a new stadium due to the restrictions of extending the stadium for limited additional capacity.
