Amazing to think only a few short weeks ago everyone was thinking this was a must win to even have a chance to stay up. Crazy how the last few weeks have went when you think about it. -
Too many of the pundits are totally biased towards the top 6. They try to give the impression that they are not, but just can’t help themselves. We have so many poor ex footballers as pundits now it’s laughable.

Don’t know who will agree, but I thought even in his first season here on loan, I thought the last couple of months his form went backwards after a great first three months. The lad has got talent, but there are certainly big question marks about his attitude. His second season on loan was basically a non event for the full time he was here.
-
Agree still think we need another midfielder on top and I have to say our central defence has been far from solid this year. Right back also, but if Ashley is still the owner nothing will happen as we know.
-
If he isn’t here next year, be great to see the next time he plays up here that he gets a standing ovation. Has a great attitude, seems to have genuinely enjoyed his loan spell and most importantly has had a massive impact on the pitch (despite the clown benching him for those games). I’m sure he will get the thanks from the fans his efforts have deserved. With everything I’ve stated above and the fact he is still so young and has a lot of potential to improve. Probably only the second player I have wanted to keep from the many we have had on loan, since Alan Brown in that magic month spell he had on loan from the mackems.

It's amazing what genuine pressure does to teams when it matters.
-
Yeah that's a true point, don't agree the reasons why, but previous transfer history shows that's how it happens.
-
Fingers crossed then, hopefully we will see some action and more direction as to what's happening and possible timelines in the near future.
-
I agree here having Ashley and Bruce in place for the start of the season will be a nightmare. Unfortunately I can see this happening as I'm far from convinced that this will be sorted by then one way or another.
-
Every time I’ve watched their game they look like a bottom 3 team. I’m amazed they’re so high up in the table.
-
Wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks he will be seen as the saviour if it does. There was talk of him keeping his executive box and I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks he could go back to the days when he first took ownership of the club and return to mixing and drinking with the support. Bloke is a grade A cunt who has given us years of utter misery and this should never be forgotten or forgiven.

You’re right to ask to see the general feelings on here. For me though if it means that I can once again have a club that is trying to progress, then it’s a big yes from me. There has been corruption in football for years and this will continue for years to come.
-
If we had an ambitious club I’m certain that a deal could be done as he hasn’t really had a massive amount of game time with Arsenal before coming here. It annoys me so much when I see the likes of Leicester being so well run and trying to move forward (successfully) as a club. We have some talent amongst the ranks and a decent summer of investment (with a new manager), could see a totally different outlook. Won’t happen as we know and that’s why it’s takeover or but as under Ashley we will continue to be a walking relegation in the making. No hope, nothing but watching mainly total shit and struggle upon struggle. That’s why come the start of the new season, with Ashley and Bruce stil in place (most likely), I will be walking away from any interest until the day we finally see a way forward with new owners. Ashley has been banging the drum about the fans deserving a team at the top end, yet as we all know has spent the last 14 years ensuring that this club has no chance of ever being more than even mildly average. He should look at the likes of Leicester and hold his head in shame at the multiple wasted opportunities that were there over his ownership. Stupid thing is he could have actually sold the club for even two or three times his current asking price with even business levels of investment.

Be interesting this summer, has he been tipped by the buyers and waiting for events to unfold before taking up his next position. I’d imagine he would still get plenty of offers, so it’s interesting that he’s still on the sidelines. Of course he might just be waiting for an offer, he could buy in to happen, and has nothing to do with waiting on our events becoming clear.
-
The total difference of how the transfer window will be, pending on if the takeover goes ahead (assuming that’s it’s done before the window ends) or not will be unreal. It’s honestly like comparing shopping in Harrods to shopping in Lidl. Crazy really when you think about it.
-
Stay under Ashley’s ownership and we’re a walking relegation waiting to happen at some point soon.
-
Dear me that’s ridiculous
-
Be interesting, when I looked on their forums recently the majority of the fans want him gone. Unless you’re Ashley’s club, when the support want you gone, it’s only a matter of time before you are.
-
I said this as my argument a couple of weeks ago for why we would be ok, with the fact that both Fulham and West Brom just weren’t good enough. We actually have double the points I thought we would get over the last 6 games, but I still felt it would be enough as just couldn’t see the other two doing anything.
-
The contrast when Longstaff came on for Willock on Friday was frightening. We went from looking a half decent team to absolute shit and totally open immediately. Any decent manager would have noticed this and why that midfield pairing is a massive issue (mind it's been obvious the last few weeks), however he is not a decent manager. It was laughable how much weaker the team was with one single subsitution.
-
It’s a shame Charlton didn’t get that last place as they’re one of the form teams and love playing the mackems in the playoffs. It’s a lottery as we all know, the teams in with them don’t look great though Blackpool have had a decent run. Think it will be a Blackpool v Sunderland final.
-
Watching the Liverpool game earlier and couldn’t help wonder what has happened to Southampton. They went top after beating us, but are now below us. They still play some decent stuff, but just don’t look anything like the team from the first few months of the season. I wonder if they may change manager in the near future. I know they were over achieving, but just didn’t see such a drastic drop in results.
