I hope the owners have learned from the mistakes in the summer concerning the men's team. You need to bring in first team starters to take the next step. The players they replace will automatically become squad players, resulting in a much improved squad.

Yeah definitely, the coaches can have a proper look at him whilst he plays for the U23's getting regular game time. They will probably be able to make a decision on whether there is real potential during that time also. No point in having another season being on the bench most of the time.

If they're good enough they will, if not they will be moved on. They will have a pick of clubs to go to though I would imagine. The standard gets a lot higher each level you move up to, so to compete you need a higher standard of player. It's the way of football and whilst some teams can't afford to improve their squad in a big way, clubs with money and ambition (like us now), will always look to improve their playing squad in every possible way they can. I get the sentiment and I would love the lasses there currently to be at the level to challenge. Unfortunately though there are a few who just aren't.

It's the only way you're going to get to the top. The girls replaced will find other clubs no problem. Nobody was interested under Ashley (the lasses even had to buy their own strips/training gear), crowds were virtually non existent and now look at the steps they have made since then. The girls game in general has only blossomed since the introduction of money into their game. I've been going since the 70s and still seen us win fuck all. If the current owners are the way for that to change, so I can at least see my team win a trophy before I go, then I'm fully on board. Other clubs have done it, so my philosophy is bring it on.
