Just hope if Howe is doing the presser, the journalists don't each aim the entire conference with questions on his illness. Obviously the first one or two will be and that's totally understandable, but his thoughts on the Villa game, the Ipswich game and champions league qualification, is what the conference should mainly be about. A few weeks ago, every question was about his feelings on the cup parade and such, and journalists were just repeating the same type of questions over and over again. I'm quite sure Howe will want to concentrate on the team also and not be mollycoddled by the wet wipes we have as journalists

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League
et tu brute replied to Rich's topic in Football
You're right of course, I just don't think anyone was expecting how much we were outplayed against Villa. A draw or City win would leave Villa either 4 or 5 points behind if we beat Ipswich. This is a massive gap with only then 4 to play and a far superior goal difference. Chelsea at home is also an absolute must win, as if we do, then they will have to make up 5 points from Saturday until the end of the season. We have the same goal difference currently, but that Chelsea match will count as double goals in reality either way. We are still in a very good position to qualify, other teams around us will drop points and we have just got to make sure that we don't let this massive opportunity slip away. Qualification into the champions league, will probably result in a big difference to our incoming summer transfers -
Bringing in four players made a big difference. We are easing Gordon back you would think after his injury, but it is concerning that there is no confidence in bringing other players in the squad to make fresh changes after 3 games in 6 days. We should certainly be looking to move on Longstaff, Willock, Target, Krafth and Wilson this Summer. Miley and Osula are young, but it's noticeable that Miley is not getting much game time even coming on as a substitute. Osula we will see next season I presume as the same questions were being asked about Hall last season.

I've always been of the opinion that we need a creative midfielder. Someone who can dictate the game in the middle of the park. Our midfield currently either dominates the opposition midfield or at times are totally dominated. Strange one to fathom as they have dominated the midfield of the two top teams, so you can't say it's due to a step up in quality. Long answer just to say I agree.

Newcastle United vs. Ipswich Town: 26/04/25 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Got to make this one count. With City playing Villa, 3 points would mean we are the same points gap as before today's game with either City or Villa depending on who wins. A draw would mean a 3 point gap to City and 4 point gap to Villa, with only 4 games to play. If one team is to win, then I would prefer City. My reason is that Villa's PSR is starting to bite them according to reports, stating that they may have to sell players this summer. Oh and there fans are cunts also. -
I thought Trippier was shocking today. Poor defensively, poor moving forward and his set pieces were terrible also
-
I often go on other forums (especially at the time we play their team) and obviously there are knob heads on all forums. However, the RTG forum has the highest amount of absolute twats by a long, long way
-
Aye there has been a mass (on a different level than ever before) outcry of faux outrage boiling over in their fewm. I wonder if racist mod Keith will still bang the drum on the 'awful football' we play.
-
I think it's more aimed at the Saudi population and potential shirt sales over there.
-
Just seen this, I know they're totally broken, I know their bitterness is on a different level currently, but that is the biggest idiotic quote I think I've ever seen. Even the other mackems have used the laughing emoji when replying
-
Forget his defensive work, he is also an excellent passer of the ball and we have missed him feeding the through ball to our midfielders. Just prey that he has a period where he is injury free as he's still at a good age

Key game as it means with a win, we can go to Villa and still be ahead of them and City if god forbid we did lose. Made even more important that the game after is City v Villa and us v Ipswich -
Their match thread on us was glorious until it was pulled (sharply as always when we win). They have now as a whole started to point out the money we have spent as the only reason we are where we are . Of course any of their fans saying we haven't spent as must as a lot of clubs are instantly quoted with bisto and mag. It's glorious seeing their mental breakdown playing out
-
Need to wake up or we could well lose this. Murphy and Barnes have been poor. Need to get Gordon on. Atmosphere for a key game has been absolutely woeful also
-
That cunt is the biggest coward going. Plenty of times when there is one of us on there, correcting bullshit from that forum with actual facts, he will immediately ban them and then celebrate about it with a post. Let's see if their main admin Pancho, removes this type of post, like he stated earlier he would do. Should make no difference that Cunt Keith is a mod either. You don't try and score points and slag off someone when they are suffering an illness. Some posts are genuinely very decent, but, there are also quite a few whilst wishing Howe well, can't resist to have a pop at him also.

Newcastle United vs. Manchester United: 13/04/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

We didn't man mark any Liverpool player (including Salah) in the final. If we play even close to the way we did that day, then we will win comfortably. -

Massive risk to play him surely in a nothing match for you. If he gets injured, it will probably fuck your chances of champions league qualification, as he is the main output for your team. He is the one player you need for Thursday. Just seems totally senseless to me to take that risk. Mind reading between the lines from your side of reports, he may well be starting. -

The game against us is relatively meaningless for them. A loss or a win may see them lose or gain a place or two at the end of the season, and 3-6 million quid (or whatever the money per placing is). However, failure to progress on Thursday, will see them miss out on relative fortune, no European football, a pretty big impact on their PSR moving forward, a major impact on the number of signings, and not being able to sign the level of quality in players they need. I maybe wrong, but, I would be gobsmacked if the likes of Fernandez (he is the key to their play) starts on Sunday. Maybe Garnacho also, with Mount playing in his place. I think the likes of Shaw, Mainoo, Eriksen and Lindlehof will probably start also. I can't see their manager risking an injury to his key first team players, when there is so much on the line. What I have seen their support are generally wanting this also. Time will tell though -
Mackems getting hard ons over the headline on RTG. Desperation again on a nothing story. The level of threads containing increased faux outrage, comfy blankets, not interested in footy anymore, and the usual basic lies since our cup victory, have went up quite a dramatic level. I thought when our takeover happened, their response and utter fewm/bitterness was glorious to see, but, our cup win has sent them madly over the edge. Us getting Champions League football will send them over the edge, whilst if we don't, it will be seen as one of the greatest days in their footballing lives. We may well be playing them next season, as the standard is the worst I've ever seen in the Championship, and I wouldn't put money on any of the play off teams who qualify winning. Could quite literally be any of them. I would have preferred Burnley or Leeds to finish in third, but, it's looking more like a Sheff Utd team in poor form will be the ones. If the mackems don't go up this year, then they will be forced to sell players and have another three teams within the league with a lot more revenue available to them. Doesn't affect us, they are miles away from us and that will only increase moving forward.

Leicester City vs. Newcastle United: 07/04/25 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)
et tu brute replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Very decent set of results this weekend. Some maybe will say Villa wasn't, but, if we win the next three games, then we will be at least five points above Villa and within 1 point (maybe less) of Forrest. Up to the players, if they have the attitude and play to the level, which is even close to the standard of the Liverpool game, then I just can't see us not winning the next three (even though Palace and Man U are in better form). Brentford, although not the best performance overall, was a vital win, as it was always going to be a test after the emotions of the final and parade. Make a statement lads tonight, go into the match with the right attitude and not thinking it will be a walkover. Getting Champions League is massive for us for next season. It will be the difference of adding one or two extra quality players and taking us to the next step forward. -
