I think Howe and the majority of the squad felt they were all in it together and on an upward journey. Isak was the first to opt out and it opened the door for others. I can imagine Howe took it personally, whereas it would have been better to let Isak go as quickly as possible. The Celtic game was the moment the magic broke for a lot of us and no fan could imagine one of our players refusing to play.

With his height I initially compared him to Peter Crouch. But in hindsight Crouch could jump,hold his own in a tackle and run. He might not have the technical skills of Nic but he had the bare minimum of what a footballer should have.

I'm more relaxed about it all in the thinking that four wins in a row would have masked over the faults of the players, tactics and the management team. If it's means we don't get Europe but can hold our hands up to the squads shortfalls, I am happy if it means constructive change. Let's not waste the chance to do good out of a bad situation

I'm not sure which teams I would pay to watch based on this season? I would say maybe Bournemouth for their style but when you look we have both only won 13 games this year.

Ironically the 137 million the Saudi league spent on two players has helped Villa along the way. If the league had allowed us to flip two players that way we would have also been a stronger position.

The guy had just come of a 20 goal season. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but nobody expected the knee injury or the drop off to be as big. If we were to sign another 20 goal striker this season we would all be excited. The fact there are only two strikers over 20 goals this season shows that the guy was not as bad as people made out. Just hasn't worked out for anyone... Rule is , don't go on strike as there is a reason players need a preseason!

If we flip that around there is nothing wrong with the cups but the fact that one club has dominated the landscape for so long. I can imagine the city fan appeal will dip...
