I agree and I know Saudi is not the answer for everyone but I do wonder in hindsight if a better option would have been to go there for a year like Maxi and then get the move he wanted. It just shows how quickly your stock drops when your purple patch finishes or the manager gives up on you

From the corner I sit in it looked like Trippier would opt to pass inwards rather than pass down the line to Murphy. Once we did use him it allowed Isak into the game as Murphy always looks to feed him. No other winger in our squad is as unselfish and I bet Isak prefers to have him on the right

People forget Barnes was bought the summer before Gordon was exceptional and had already showed signs of being disgruntled 90% of fans would have sold Gordon that window and Barnes if fit would have likely started more games. Fate played a different hand for both players but the club had their own doubts in my eyes

Basically nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors in our boardroom, the court case or the premier league yet we are all becoming experts on things people have no previous knowledge on. So for my what ifs... What if the club could spend 70 million on players this summer but were waiting to find out if the court case went in our favour and we were able to spend 200 million this winter? What if we could announce a legit sponsorship with a company for 50 million but again if the court case went in our favour we could get a related party deal over the line for 200 million. We don't even have cryptic bread posts from the football lawyer to give us a hint. We just have to ride it out and see what happens next.

I really don't mind them starting a super league as long as they close the door behind them. I mean how would they even justify making it a level playing ground if the cartel are earning four or five times the other clubs in the league?

To be fair if you go far enough back we have had wars with the majority of the world... So it all ends up English only and Big Sams redemption! But in all seriousness if we had a premier league with 20 English managers, one would win the league and three would be relegated (and I reckon it would be the same clubs as now). Just that the big clubs went foreign first and then teams who were challenging for Europe and gradually even lower league teams. The pot is so small that you end up having u21 coaches being pushed to be first team managers
