  1. Thank fuck! Absolutely brilliant! Had to ignore it for the family’s sake - past few weekends have basically ruined all family time. Dram tonight to celebrate!
  2. While I don’t think he should be sacked, there’s going to be a lot of pressure and scrutiny should we lose. Some of it it entirely warranted IMO.
  3. If play 4 at the back I think we need two midfielders to sit and Joelinton further forward. I have no idea who that two would be. We are so fucked.
  4. Or to put it another way, he is bang average, but what we have at the moment is fucking turd
  5. I dunno, I watched a few of their games over the years, and I see a better player than what we’ve got. Nothing special, nowhere near Digne, but better than our lot. I felt there were times when he worked well with Grealish on the left and looked capable of hitting decent passes over the top, and delivering into the box.
  6. I think Targett is decent personally. Better than what we have, decent delivery. Doubt he will want to come here though.

The Brett Emerton of the PIF era. Will undoubtedly be used as part of a “monitoring”/“over the line” joke on here in 10 years time
  8. If I were the consortium, I’d be keeping a list of all the clubs who have dicked us about and in a couple of years time just start fucking them up, unsettling players, gazumping their bids, stealing their youth prospects. Scorched earth.

    Jesse Lingard

If we stayed up, I think we could probably try to go for someone a bit younger and more talented tbh.

Jesus just do the loan. Don’t particularly want him beyond summer anyway.

This window is turning into a total shambles

Bet it’s Villa, and if it is, the meltdown will be unreal

That’s more like it, and if they say nah then move the fuck on, please.

Absolutely spot on. We haven’t been in a position to really negotiate like the rest of the league.

Agree with that. The longer the window goes on, the more sellers can drive up their prices. There is literally no incentive to sell, as long as you feel you can get a similar deal in the summer. It should have been a number of take it or leave it deals offered before Jan rather than all this dicking around.

Yeah I think that bracket some will come, some might not. Botman and Carlos clearly fancy it, but Digne did not. What I’m trying to say, is just agreeing that from footballing perspective, we aren’t a prospect, and it’s absolutely fine to say that these guys are basically only coming for cash. I mean, footballing wise, staying a Sevilla is a no brainer really, it’s just that we have cash. I don’t think any player is pushing to come to us for any other reason. On a side note, it appears like the difficulty getting deals done again goes back to what we already knew. The club has been fucked by Ashley. No scouting or recruitment network and no competent or experienced DOF/CE in place to complete these deals. Contacts are everything and we got none.

100%. What people seem to miss time and time again, is that outside of Newcastle - at this moment in time - we are an ugly prospect. Aside from a bucket of cash, we aren’t exactly a wonderful prospect to foreign players. If we start making moves, if we stay up, if we can build our brand, that will change, but right now we’re a rich club with a big ground that play in the EPL. That’s it.
  19. No way we are beating them. We are bobbins at the moment.
  20. Aye, people are absolutely stupid to think we only played negative, boring football like. Totally lapped up the media narrative since he left.
  21. Needs to get some fucking wins sharpish, or the pressure will be too much, with Rafa hanging about.
  22. Absolutely true for both posts. I don’t think Rafa would be who we want long term, because KI is right, eventually we want to build a much more progressive brand of football. But despite the money, we are absolutely fucked right now. We need a more pragmatic approach to survival and getting at least some of the basics right, which we aren’t doing at all.
  23. I’m curious what people see in Howe so far that makes us thing he can take this on? I understand the reluctance to go back to Rafa btw. I’m just not seeing Howe make any improvements either!
