  1. Just fucking bin him already. Give him the severance in bags of pennies and he can get himself down to Asda to sort it all out.
  2. Also, with podcasts - think something like that could work, especially if it is an alternative to the usual talking heads NUFC shite patter and had a different slant. I kind of hate football podcasts that talk relentlessly about the football or football club ?
  3. Just seen this post. Think it’s a really great idea. Definitely worth discussing the development of NO. My own perspective from a good few years of community work is that often exciting and vibrant community efforts can die when they become formally constituted and management boards are set up. It tends to bring politics and arsehole personalities out (see the Trust as an example). The idea of doing something ego-free with NO is great. Perhaps try and be a really great and fun fan group without massive lofty aims? Like just build a really good community of fans, with plenty of opportunities for connection be it virtual, at matches, events…
  4. Trying to stay level headed about this. Desperately want the cunt gone, and have no doubt he will take us down. However I’m certain that given the amount of spending and ambition they will be considering, there’s no chance he has a long term future here.

I don’t think it’s worth getting pissy about. The whole point of the medium is to be critical. I don’t mind it. If it was any other club I’d be laughing.

Look, I get the point about the meaning of the word rival. It is just that historically, they have been a local rival. Let’s not actually forget they’ve bested us loads recently. Yes they’re nowhere near us now, and at various times in my life haven’t been near us (Keegan and Robson eras) but there have been times we have been in direct competition too. So yes, I would still say they are our rivals. If you did a poll of a 100 NUFC fans asking who our rivals were, the majority would say them, I doubt many would say Norwich, Burnley or whoever.

Yeah it’s absolute bollocks to be starting the “they’re not our rivals stuff”. Why the fuck do we talk about them then? They’re our rivals because we have a shared history and hostility towards each other that goes back years and years. It’s utter semantics. We care about the games against them, we want to beat them precisely because they’re our local rivals. It’s pompous to suggest otherwise
  8. 2 replies later… Who’s dismissing who here? Proper paranoid stuff.
  9. Do they still play Blitzkrieg bop before the match too?
  10. Apologies that should be in the other thread probably…on a more fun note I’m still absolutely buzzing - excited to hear our plans this week!
  11. I thought the guardian were pretty good in discussing it on Football weekly btw (apart from that arsehole Glendenning - but he’s been a paid troll for a while). There is something quite hypocritical about sports journalism though - they’re complete enablers of sportswashing by continuously writing articles, podcasting etc. So it’s not just fans that are in a moral quandary. The best thing to do would be to take an ethical stance and stop writing about us, Man City, PSG, but they’ll not do that because football is football and the news cycle needs to be fed.
  12. I get what you’re saying but I think that article is pretty fair tbh
  13. Total rabbitholes going on now. Isn’t it okay to just say as the title suggests - I’m conflicted? There is no resolution to this argument.
  14. Absolutely class result for Scotland. Would love to see us go for Gilmour, he’s class. Patterson has also been a revelation on the right.
  15. I think if we’re going to examine other countries’ rap sheet we might take time to examine our own country’s history. Think we will all find a fair few reprehensible things there - which is why making us as fans responsible for the dealings of the nation is completely mad. We would also have to question why fans support national teams too. It’s just mad. Enjoy the fucking ride lads, when we’re all old and pissing ourselves at least we may be able to say we saw NUFC win something.
  16. I’m happy about the takeover and am just going to try and enjoy the ride. Won’t be buying any shite relating to Saudi Arabia or dancing around with a tea towel on my head. The irony of all of this is that I think our fan base will have had more discussion and reflection on human rights over the past 18 months than they would have otherwise. Like someone else has said, I’m not going to feel like I have to justify my support for a club I’ve supported my entire lives. That being said, the Saudi regime is a fucking horrible murderous regime. So is the US by the way.
  17. 100% yes. This is the only inclusive/sane part of NUFC internet
  18. fucking horrific. Fucking cunts
  19. I was 21 and in my 3rd year of Uni. Thankfully I had a season ticket during the Robson years which was amazing. Since then, all my family have moved out of Newcastle, got married and am about to have my second kid. NUFC was really the last thing keeping me tied to the city.
  20. Fuck me. I just had an emotional moment there. Just keep thinking about the brilliant moments this fucking mad basket of a club has given me, and then I think of passing this nonsense onto my kids. It feels so good.
  21. Brentford (H) under Rafa in the championship. Not sure when the next one will be but hoping to make it a family affair.
