  1. And needless to say @Heron - well done for sticking to your principles
  2. What a fucking load of shit. While I’m supportive of the pledge idea, I’m stopping. I’d been quite excited by the whole thing but the trust can fuck off after these past few days. Fucking arseholes.
  3. I dare say they’d also boost their funds too if people saw them being a bit more militant
  4. I mean it would have had a little more credibility if they had pulled together an NUST shop kind of thing…with like a load of bespoke products with discounts etc. And at a different time, and not sent in the same breath as the Tracey Crouch thing too. But one fucking jigsaw man. Honestly they don’t do themselves any favours.
  5. Couldn’t agree more on the fucking jigsaw thing. What a fucking weird thing to put out there. Mad really.
  6. I’d rather take purgatory in this league than join the graveyard SPL
  7. Remember saying that about a few of our players when Rafa was here - mates who asked about Longstaff, Perez, Schar for example. I would always say that in the Rafa system they look good, but I don’t think any of them are the kind of players that you could just stick on a pitch and be objectively good regardless of system…
  8. I agree - but I think you could say the same thing about the conditioning of the whole squad. Also, just to play the amateur psychologist for a bit - from my own experience of playing 7s, it’s sometimes hard to stay motivated when you’re part of a shit team getting humped every week. Obviously these guys are professional, but I think the same applies in some way. So much comes down to the training, coaching, tactical and psychological input they get from their club. And since our arsehole of a manager is swanning off to Portugal for a break in September and not notifying half the squad when training sessions are, you can surmise that all of that isn’t up to PL standard
  9. Not calling you out particularly, but I genuinely don't understand these kind of posts. What exactly is the difference between a PL player and a championship player? For the Longstaffs I'm not sure I could really say. I don't see an obvious technical weakness (unlike our no.7 who looks amateurish when it comes to striking through the ball), and everything that you could throw at them - fitness, decision making, movement off the ball, timing...it's all stuff that needs to be coached. I mean you see players that have been written off by clubs making waves in the PL all the time (see Toney for a recent example). Not to say that I think the Longstaffs will become world beaters, but I what I see in their careers is not a lack of talent but a lack of nurture for two potentially very useful players
  10. I think that’s the point one trying to make. I would still try protest, but I accept the reality that loads won’t, and we’re all ultimately tired of 14 years of the same shite.
  11. To be clear, I don’t advocate going to games, which is why I personally don’t attend. What I was trying to get across is that 14 years is a long long time and people have obviously become tired, embittered and lost because he’s still here. I don’t think I’m really getting my point across properly though. Fundamentally, I agree with you, walking away is the only real option, but clearly some won’t.
  12. Part of the issue with protests is that the cunt we’re protesting against has been here so bastard long. I mean, there will be kids born when he took over that won’t be long taking their GCSEs…not that I think we shouldn’t try in some way, but a lot has been tried and he endures. It’s incredibly hard. Fucking hate the man.
  13. Exactly, plus, in a system where there is a more risk attached to the attacking play, the strength of ASM (trying to beat a few) becomes a risk to the team as he loses it and leaves it susceptible to a fast transition. NUFC on the other hand sit back and let him do it all, so if he loses it, theoretically there are enough players camped in our own half to deal with it, as we rarely commit more than about 3 players forward at any one time
  14. I wondered about why no one took a punt and the only conclusion I can come to is that top teams don’t like that he doesn’t release it often enough/view him as a bit “playground” and the level below that would probably see better value elsewhere (Bailey for example)
  15. Anyway, I’m not saying anyone is wrong, I just personally don’t think it makes sense for some sort of deal to happen to ensure anti-Bruce chants aren’t heard on tv. However, I’m happy to be proven wrong if it ever comes to light
  16. I saw that too. I guess we will never know, but I don’t think the logical conclusion is that the mics were switched off. I’m not saying it definitely didn’t happen, but I just don’t see why that would be the case. Does it protect Bruce? Not really because he would still be hearing it in the ground and get asked about it after…
  17. The argument about Gayle being crap at getting into games is a fair point, but when all is said and done you need to score goals to win games. I don’t think it’s necessarily an argument of Joelinton vs Gayle tbh. If your second striker (Gayle) has a specific set of strengths and weaknesses that are different to your first choice, well then the system you use should be adapted to try and reduce the impact of the weaknesses and play to his strengths. It would require some form of plan which we clearly do not have. Gayle has to start games when Wilson is out. He is the only other striker we have that can finish chances. In fact we don’t even have another striker.
  18. Watched online hoping it would turn nasty. As far as I could tell, the atmosphere sounded pretty meek. I mean, isn’t it a bit unlikely that they turned the mics down? A big fallout/protest surely creates talking points and excitement around the game…
  19. The idiots that have bought season tickets are the last folk who would be interested in supporting some form of protest. Absolute cucks
  20. Even with the holiday stuff taken out of the equation, do the players not have like an app or a copy of their training schedule for the season? It’s like a bunch of fucking kids starting secondary school man. “Miss, I don’t know what lesson I have”, “Miss, I’ve lost my timetable”, “Miss, Matty said we have assembly now”… Honestly we are so shit man
  21. "Ok here goes : 2. Any examples you can point to ? 5. Hearts are tiny compared to us - Chalk and cheese 6. 1% = No say or control over anything - its the ultimate feel good but pointless gesture 7. Why would any club give someone / an entity owning a mere 1% of shares a seat on the board or any say in how the club is run . That IS fantasy 8. You might as well cut out the middleman and give it to charity - except do it now instead of years in the future - they need your £ now and they need it much more than NUST do" I count one question, which was answered. Unless you don't know how to use a question mark.
  22. I look forward to hearing about your research finding about all the interesting and valuable community-led initiatives that have changed people's lives btw @InspectorCoarse. You can tell us all about the examples you've found out about.
  23. That's the post of a total troll to be honest. It's disingenuous to state that a) people haven't advocated their views and b) to imply that you're open to debate. You're asking me to waste my time to try and convince you of something you have no intention of being convinced about, and you're acting the tit about it to boot.
