Also I just wanted to say I disagree with the people still saying Isak needs to be played behind or alongside a classic number 9. Just look at the success Arsenal are having with Trossard and Martinelli interchanging between left wing and central. Even before that, Gabriel Jesus who wouldn't be considered as a classic number 9.

Think the first couple of times Howe brought Anderson on it was to play in midfield. After that there was a long period where he was injured/not involved and that was when he got some minutes on the wing. If I had to say I think Howe sees Anderson as more of an attacking midfielder than a winger.

Tbf the whole thing was about as public as it could get. How can you say the interview was the sole cause when his attitude was clearly stinking the place out. The interview was a sympton of that whole shitshow.

Yeah. IIRC Wood, Burn, Targett, Pope and Trippier were all straight into the starting lineup. Bruno and Botman had to wait a bit longer. Although they were all much more experienced than Gordon, not sure yet but I think Gordon may be seen as a player Howe wants to develop over time and ease him in slowly.

Know it's been said on here a lot but I love the fact that player mentality is such a big thing for our recruitment team. Think that's played a massive role in Man City hardly signing any flops over the past years. We also haven't signed any flops yet bar Wood who was an emergency signing to help us stay up and he's been shifted already.

Antonee robinson is shite but I think the rest are decent shouts. Manu Kone, Lacroix and Maddison would all be amazing. Think lacroix would more likely be a Schar replacement than Lascelles. Leao would be insane but he’s at the top level of wonder kids so unlikely.

I feel the same, but also wondering if maybe it's partly due to me getting used to having Bruno's quality in our midfield. When he first came, every touch and through ball he made was pretty much mindblowing. Now I think I kind of take it for granted the things he's able to do.

In my opinion that's fine. It would be scary if Bruno got injured but I don't think any CM that's available for us to sign right now would change that.

Im the same. I've actually managed to convince myself that he'll be a fantastic signing, even though I never really would have wanted him before this mini transfer saga. Although at the same time, I do think the people that have been deciding on transfers so far have earned the right to be trusted.

Saw someone post a tweet on here (can't remember which thread) that was saying UEFA was gonna put a limit of 5 years for FFP. So guessing that would many anything longer than 5 years wouldn't count towards amortisation.

Yeah just that the links suggested we were going to compete with Chelsea to sign him on a pre contract for Summer. It might have changed given that we seemingly have a way to get Wood off the books this Jan and we know our owners are flexible.

But Moukoko has 6 months left on his contract right? So he wouldn't be signing until the summer if we did get him.

Nick Pope being pretty much the best in the league at sweeping actions makes up for our slow back line, and it rarely gets exposed by pace as much as last night.

Such a weird signing, if he does well he will cost a fortune, if he doesn't it's 11m wasted on half a season.

Surely not on our left side either. Our left side is pretty much as defensive as it gets. Dan Burn, a CB playing LB, Joe willock a pressing monster in LCM and Joelinton a midfield destroyer playing LW. I do imagine the plan will be to move to a more balanced playstyle in the future though, playing a more attacking LB and moving Joelinton back into his best position which is in the midfield.
