Not sure how reliable but seems to suggest we were the ones offering Gordon to Liverpool?
-
Was still following Minteh on the FotMob app and just got a notification pop up that he’s scored for Brighton in their pre season game
-
I thought he was referring to seeing a Romano tweet about Nico Gonzalez and for a second got excited thinking it might be related to a Newcastle bid I don’t think him signing a new contract last summer necessarily means he won’t move this summer
-
Yeah I realised after posting it that it might give people a couple of seconds of false excitement. Sorry about that
-
So it seems like last summer, Brentford bid around €35M then upped it to €40M+ and Fiorentina rejected both and then gave González a new contract

One of the comments on this tweet “for 40million I’ll tattoo Furlani on my back” Furlani is AC’s CEO. Do the fans not rate Thiaw that highly?
-
Yeah I think Onana will be very good for Villa. Have they signed a replacement for Douglas Luiz though? Wasn’t he one of their most important players last season?
-
Did Ashworth ever talk publicly about any Newcastle signings at the time? Also this kid seems like a good signing but all Man U signings usually look good on paper, the majority in recent times have still turned out to be flops though. Remains to be seen if Ratcliffe and Ashworth can actually turn a corner and stop them being a banter club though

Would be ironic if the compensation from the PL boosts their FFP

Feels like Mitchell and Howe could be a match made in heaven. My one (slight) concern is that Howe is maybe not most known for using young/academy players when he can avoid it? That’s not me being negative at all btw, Mitchell is a really exciting appointment and I think he sounds like exactly what we need

Can anyone re-explain for a dummy how exactly the new PSR rules work, or where to find the info so I can read it myself? Sorry, I know it’s probably been explained hundreds of times in here already
-
I get this but doesn’t it also work the other way? Clubs have known all along that we need to sell. Maybe it’s just taken this long until any clubs actually put acceptable offers. Maybe also the club had the Minteh sale lined up for a while but were holding out to see if any clubs came in for Wilson or Almoron but they haven’t so they’ve needed to sell Minteh and Anderson.
-
Surely this isn’t the case? I’m not an expert but to me it seems the whole “protecting clubs from going broke” is just how they disguise the real purpose which is in fact to protect the established clubs from needing to worry about losing their position.

Send the Longstaff clan as well, he did a job but he can’t be starting for us anymore To be fair I think most would agree that he shouldn’t be starting for us anymore and with Tonali back we probably have enough depth to not need to start Longstaff
-
Please no more almiron… rather play injured lascelles at CB than sign no RW
-
Hypothetically if we wanted to do a straight swap with Everton, could both clubs not just buy each player for 30M. The sales would be profit and they could be bought amortised. That would theoretically give both clubs a significant boost to PSR wiggle room?
-
Not saying Milan definitely knew but I’d lean more that way if I had to put money on it
-
Just on this, the stories that came out at the time mentioned that he gambled quite openly around his team mates and even showed a couple of them an anonymous gambling website. I think there was one Italian player (can’t remember which) who snitched on Tonali being a bit of instigator
-
Not saying we would or should sell Isak, but if it were to happen for say 180 million. Who could we even sign at a similar age or younger than Isak who could also score 20 in the premier league? And also as other mentioned this player would have to be willing to play a year with no European football.

Absolutely insane, casually spending 40+25 million on a teenager. That’s more than what Madrid paid for Endrick
-
This post and the one right above it is comedy gold you should probably delete this
-
I also find it hilarious how Man U fans truly think he’s their Saviour, all the while the Glazers who still own the majority of the club slip back into the shadows Gotta give them some respect for the blind optimism though
-
Yeah that’s fair. I would also admit that personally I tend to get overly excited about young players showing such promise. Especially a player like Minteh who is not only putting up great stats but also flair, confidence and pace which is everything I want to see in a winger. On top of that he seems to do a lot of defensive and pressing work. I’m often wrong though, I thought Mudryk would become one of the best wingers in the world when he was leaving Shaktar to go to Chelsea

I get where you’re coming from but I think everyone saying “it’s only the eredevise” also need to ask themselves how many teenagers have performed on that level in the eredevise or even lower quality leagues. I don’t think it will be many. I don’t think Miggy would get anywhere near those stats even if he was playing in that league.
