My personal favourite SAFC moment was when the Don got them all as slave labourers changing the pink seats

He's mentioned that he used to he an accountant has he? Never heard him say that before The way he bangs on you would think he was the only accountant in Tyne and Wear.
-
I don't want him back. His time here was the only time in the Ashley era that I felt connected to the club. I'd rather leave that be. There are not many examples of managers going back to clubs and it being a success. I wish KK had never come back because of the way it turned out. It is best to just leave the past as the past.

Was there this hysteria when he got sacked by Villa or the mackems? What abuse did he get from us? 'We want Brucie out' is hardly abuse. This was one of his games at the mackems. He received nothing like that from us but we are painted as abusive deluded fans:
-
like that is going to happen

A point away to a decent side a few days after a change of coach. I'll take that.

Wow

Fonseca will probably have changed his number and blocked Amanda on Facebook if he is watching this.
-
We got away with that. Benteke getting too much space.
-
I can't stand him. He has basically tarnished an entire city as being deluded, demanding and abusive (a city he claims to love) while in the process saying we have hurt his family, thrown several of his players under the bus publically including a young goalkeeper playing in Ronaldo's homecoming, said he hopes some journalists get a slap, blamed his predecessor in public for his team playing poorly. Yet he is crying to the press about someone calling him a cabbage head.

Another member of the 1990s piss head club sticking up for their proper football man mate.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Not just because the previous regime is now gone, but we will get to see how this squad fares with Bruce out of the way and Jones given a free reign. I'd expect to see some shape and more of a game plan this weekend. 2-1 win.
-
Spot on. Lots of my in laws are mackems and when he was appointed they pretty much told me exactly how it would play out with him in terms of the blame game. He blamed their fans for not supporting him cos he was a Geordie. Blamed the Villa fans for his Birmingham connection. Blamed us for being Rafa fans. He is clearly a vindictive manipulator. He had his narrative here from day one, an excuse ready made for when he failed; no one supported him cos of Rafa and the players were playing shit cos they wouldn't abandon Rafa's system. Nothing to do with nice bloke Brucie. How he has been allowed to get away with this routine for so long is beyond me. I have never disliked anyone who has represented our club as much as this fraud.

Middlesbrough- the kings of one sided rivalries. They have one with us, the mackems and Leeds, none of whom give a flying fuck about them.
-
I think we will win this. The players know they are now playing for a place in the squad of a club going places and will want to turn in a decent performance. Every one of them is now easily replaceable in January and they will know it. The fat mess on the touchline will have no influence over Sunday's result. The players will likely ignore him and be playing for themselves. 2-1.

It makes me cringe every time this tit gets in front of a camera. When you consider the fact that we had managers like SBR and Rafa, who would behave with such dignity and class as the public face of the club. These were times you could be proud of NUFC as the man leading us always represented the club in a positive way. Compare them to this petulant man child. The week after the biggest day (potentially) in our club's modern history and his first opportunity at an interview he is making everything about himself, telling journalists he hopes they get a slap, dragging our name through the mud, yet again. This why everyone wants him gone ASAP.
-
Spot on. Handing over the cash instantly also sends the wrong message to other clubs who will no doubt try to have our pants down over transfer fees in the future, given that we are loaded now.
-
Wouldn't surprise me. One final fuck you from Ashley.
-
He is gone, it is just a case of when. I think folk are desperate (and rightly so) to get rid of him for Sunday so he doesn't put a downer on events as much as for football reasons. This is really due to the utter contempt with which he has treated our club and fans. If he hadn't carried on the way he did I dont think many would begrudge him his 1,000th game. I am pretty sure if we were in this exact situation, 19th and struggling, with someone like Hughton in charge there wouldnt be this clamour for an instant sacking as he would have conducted himself with dignity and not taken shots at the fans. Bruce has only himself to blame for his abhorrent behaviour.
-
Absolutely this. He is an appalling manager but when it comes to publicity, keeping the media on his side and setting himself up for his next job the bloke is peerless. He will have his mind set on which gullible owners will take him on next and the whole thing will be a massive distraction. Right now he will be spending more time and energy thinking about how he can take advantage of Sunday for his own benefit than on the team and tactics.

It was only a few years ago they were beating us twice a season every season. Our rivalry is one of the fiercest most passionate in the UK. Let's face it, during the Ashley years the derby was pretty much all there was to look forward to every season. I'm glad we are not like Boro who basically don't have any local rivals and have to try and piggyback the Tyne-Wear one.
-
I really hope he is not here for the Spurs game. I can just imagine what he will be like. He will lap up the party atmosphere as if it somehow reflects on him. He'll do some kind of valedictorian interview afterwards portraying his time as a success as he kept us up for two years and now he is passing the baton on.
-
Agree. He will he gone by the Spurs game. I'd imagine he is just trying to squeeze every bit of compensation and that is the hold up. He will be on to his next pay off soon enough. The new owners have worked hard for years to push this deal through and judging by yesterday (and the communication from Amanda through the process) PR and relations with the fans are important to them. There is no way they will allow their grand entrance at the Spurs game to be sullied by the presence of Bruce.
-
This basically sums up the entire 14 years.
-
Why is he still here? This week has been so close to perfect with the takeover going through. The only thing missing is him getting the boot, and then we are back on track. I understand we need a replacement but surely Jones can fill in until we find one. He is pretty much doing Bruce's job as it stands anyway.
