Get in. We are 17th. Winning.
-
Apparently if you are wearing a bra it is ok.
-
Time wasting. At Watford to hang on to a draw to keep us 18th.
-
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Watford. Canny team and decent place for an away game. They come across as absolute twats today mind.
-
And there it is...
-
How this lot have 11 players on the pitch is beyond me.
-
Dirty bastards this lot.
-
We have played well and they have been terrible. Let's see if Bruce can fuck it up over half time.
-
Ben Foster

Good goal. Keeper at fault mind. Unsure how I feel about that exactly. Obviously I want us to win usually but a win here could keep Bruce in the job for another month at least. Fixtures in December look a nightmare so this could be the worst case scenario to win today.
-
He's fine now. Had some time in the paddling pool and the wheelie bin.
-
I don't think keeping his job is winning for him. He is used to getting payoffs for failing. He is probably very frustrated that Ashley is so stubborn and has not yet pulled the trigger.
-
Our loyal support is our strength but also our weakness. In the good times like the KK years I am sure our support dragged us to a couple of results. As of now, people turning up just validates Ashley and Bruce.

NUFC are the equivalent of Sports Direct. SD offer cheapo products at a low price. That is what Ashley has made NUFC into. We are the cheap version of a premier league club. Spend low on players, sell anyone good on for a profit, survive for the TV money. Running it as a business he has made his model and is doing it very well. Just like this sponsorship he is a gambler. He gambled on us and is maximizing his profits. For us, supporters, it is horrendous, but in his view he has a premier league club with TV money and sponsorship potential. All he needs to do is hire an average manager(not a good manager, we have already seen that a good manager with ambition will not get along with Ashley), a few half decent players and he gets 50,000 people turning up every other week and buying merchandise, food, drink, also a sponsorship deal every year. He has a cash cow and will continue to milk it. Too many of our fans confuse turning up on a match day and cheering the team on with loyalty. Blindly following this shit into the abyss is not being a loyal supporter. It takes a lot more to not go and miss out on the days out with your mates in town or the away trips.
-
The only chance we have of that is if one fat mess of a man sacks another fat mess, then sells the club to someone with ambition.
-
But they went to 'Wembo' and had a party in Trafalgar Square. They were the nicest, best behaved fans London has ever seen. Everyone still talks about how classy they are. They are classy fans who wouldn't throw a pint at their most successful manager since the war, glass the chairman who build their stadium and academy, or racially abuse their top scorer's mother.

Sad to hear. Having had a relative suffer from this I would not wish it on anyone. I hope he gets the care he needs.
-
Impossible to say how good he is or could be at the moment. He is being managed by Steve Bruce. If you look back at his (Bruce's) career there are no players who he coached who ended up better for his input. The same can be said for the clubs he has managed. He takes players and clubs and gets the best out of what they already have and then sinks them; he does not improve anyone. The lad is at an age where he needs a quality manager to develop him. He is not going to find that with Bruce. Give him a year with Rafa or a manager of similar quality and then see how he develops as a player.
-
Spot on I reckon. You can just see it now...Fluke win against a shit team. Bruce celebrates on the touchline like he has won the champions league. Press conference full of smug comments and passive aggressive digs at the fans and media. Tells us we should be happy with being 17th and out of the relegation zone cos we are only Newcastle and our expectations are too high and that he is doing a great job helping us survive and tick along.

Inter looking good as always. My 'local' team Napoli look the real deal this year. I wouldnt bet against them winning the league. Got tickets for the game v Moscow in the Europa which should be fairly lively.
-
True, but this season we have West Ham and Leicester in the Europa League. There is no reason we (if we actually tried and realized our potential) shouldn't be aiming to finish ahead of those two teams. That of course depends on us having an owner who actually wants to get the club into Europe, not just survive for the TV money. Going slightly off topic, I think one way to make football more interesting in this country would be to make the league cup only for teams not playing in Europe and offer a European spot. It would give the rest of us something to aim for and clear up the fixtures for the big 4/6. At the moment the league cup is basically the 'see how far you can get before you get thrashed by Man City' cup. Sponsors would never allow it mind.
-
It doesn't actually take that much for a club of our size to get into the Europa. West Ham managed it fine. Just some ambition. This is where we should be aiming for.
-
I would quite happily accept home fans throwing flares at me if it meant being back in Europe. Can't see that happening for the foreseeable though....
-
It was amazing watching that on TV. The number of our fans and volume through the match was incredible. I was at university at the time and couldnt afford to go, I thought there would be plenty of chances to watch us in Europe in the coming years.... how wrong I was. In terms of favourite away matches- Roker park the season when away fans were banned. Was only a teenager and absolutely terrified in their end. It was not fun at the time but getting back home to celebrate was amazing.
