There's a World Cup coming up and I'm sure Lingard would love to take part in that. I don't doubt his motivation in the short term one bit. Don't care about transfer fees, age or wages. We need to improve right now and if he wants to join, it really should be a no-brainer.

Lingard's miles better than anyone we have in that attacking midfield role. He'd be a cracking addition.

For me the most important thing is that the club affects me again. Years of apathy are now gone. Before the game last night I was shitting myself all day. We might get relegated, but I know these owners will do everything possible to avoid that. I also know that they'll do everything they can to get us straight back up and make us a force in the top flight again. It might set us back a few years, but honestly I don't really care that much. In fact I'm quite relaxed about it as I know we'll be back sooner rather than later.
