Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 4/1/26 @ 15:00 (Sky Sports)
Virtua Stiva replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Probably Villa first game of the season as they were way off the boil to begin with. Turns out, so were we. I also think this though. We even managed to play West Ham in the 3 week period they looked competent -
Looking at purely stats, you’d say Sunderland are in a false position but they’re managing to take advantage of a lot of sides that look leggy and soft this season. They should worry when that defensive solidity starts to creak since they don’t score a lot but until teams get their act together, which doesn’t look like happening any time soon, they’ll be fine on their physical side alone. It’s been that sort of season where those qualities are winning out. That keeper is a help, mind. I’d argue he’s been as important as Xhaka and I don’t think he’ll be in their goal next season

That Brighton manager will be sitting patiently by the phone
-
This place will have a meltdown when we sign Charlie Cresswell
-
These get away with fucking murder like Will be crippling when it catches up to them
-
Not surprised he genuinely thinks he could get a game here watching the current pair of clowns. Any keeper of any repute would think the same

We’ve been far worse than that this season tbf but it’s more a slow continuation of the same mistakes and flaws every week that seemingly aren’t in any danger of being sorted any time soon. We have so many insanely frustrating footballers in our side, it’s mental -

Man United knew enough to know they could sit back for an entire half and we wouldn’t force too many chances. That’s about as damning a statement as you can say -

Oh, so we’re not allowed to win? That’s what it’s starting to feel like with these hopeless cunts in yellow -

That’s a baffling one, mind. So we’re just never playing our two strikers as a pair? -
Unbelievable. That might actually be worse than Gordon’s against Chelsea. No handball given because he was too busy pushing our player in the back?

No cynical comment to make about a Man United player feigning an injury, Neville? Fucking silly prick -

Not sure we’re far away from the entire studio popping the champagne out if Man United win -

Far, far too easy for the opposition every single week. We used to be a nightmare side to play against; full of pace, power and shithousery to boot. We look a side without an identity these days and I really hope it’s just teething pains as we move to a different approach but it’s hard work atm -
Was just about to mention that. Their point about on-field refs being shit scared to make a decision, leaving it to VAR and then VAR refusing to get involved resulting in no decision being given is a very salient one. How the fuck did we get to this? Every single week, there’s an absolute shit show of a refereeing performance and you just have to cross your fingers it isn’t our game

While they’re at it, they can give the reasoning for Mr Brobbey doing the same for the mackems last weekend

Eddie is far more rational and level headed than me, like. If I’d have watched that foul on the replay iPad and saw no pen getting given, I’d have my players off the pitch in protest Absolutely fucking shafted up the wrong one by the latest in the carousel of incompetence today
-
Hope it’s nothing trivial for the cunt

Can’t say I’m too bothered about them taking the piss about Woltemade’s goal because we’d be having a good laugh as well if the roles were reversed but he’ll be wearing that in a few months while everyone who has forgotten that turgid match, politely tells him that Woltemade doesn’t fucking play for them

A much better game but one I’d expect from us at home tbf. Miley had a good game out of position, I thought and Wissa will score a hatful when he’s fully up to speed. They deserve to get dumped out for that second half. 1-1 against a team that could be very fragile and they just willingly sat back for pens. I’d be raging at that as a Fulham fan -

We are definitely a side with a very soft underbelly atm. Few quick passes and you’re through us
