This is pretty much how I'm expecting the England game to go later on. Alot of similarities between this Dutch team and the England team, huge quality in most areas but lacking in vital ones. The big difference is we have the finisher/match winner in Kane needed to win these kind of game, whereas Netherlands do not.

I could definitely see us signing one of them, MGW coming in would obviously be preferable but as long as other positions are filled well then DCL would be a decent one (for the right price).

A transfer window consisting of Kelly, Trafford, MGW and DCL would be really quite solid if maybe not as exciting as people would hope. Even with all those we'd still need another CB and a RW. It's going to be a big job getting everything we need this summer. Alot of people are going to be disappointed about who we can realistically bring in.

There really is some woeful takes and absurd arguements (online in general) going on around this England squad. Don't remember it being this bad at the Qatar WC. So many discussions around players who will never even play more than 10 minutes in this entire tournament. I really cannot wait for the 14th so we can finally have something else to occupy everyone's minds and then England can prove us all right or wrong, depending on what you think of their chances.

So we need to get some money in but we don't ideally want to lose Minteh to anyone let alone a PL club. If Liverpool are willing to pay £40M or so then surely there's a club in Europe out there willing to pay a loan fee of let's say £4M, assuming ofcourse Howe doesn't think he's ready for the first team. Add that to whatever we get for Dubravka, Miggy and Wilson and that's our summer sorted. If only it were that easy.

Hearing Southgates comments before and after the game and him talking about Wharton, I think he's 100% taking him. Basically said England do not have and have not had a player like Wharton in a long time and it's affected how England have performed.

All of them were playing in the Championship though. They were readily available to any Prem team, don't want to do Freedman a disservice but just happens Palace are at that level where they need to take those risks and more clubs should be the same really.

Kane definitely has one more tournament in him at the top level, probably 2 if he's lucky with injuries and he can continue in the vein Lewandoski or Benzema did well into in their mid 30s. You'd hope within 3/4 years we will have another top English striker coming through, but they are becoming a far more rare commodity. I don't see where they are coming from right now but Kane himself didn't come to the fore till about 20/21yrs old, so there's time.

Eze has to go. Wharton has to go. Simple really, both provide something we miss hugely but especially Wharton. Based on that performance by Watkins I'll be praying Kane stays fit and hoping that Toney gets some good minutes and plays well on Friday.

I follow England on Twitter and I've not Gordon in anything yet. Admittedly I've not gone back through everything from the last couple of days and checked but I wonder whether he's still actually injured and hasn't trained properly yet? Might struggle to make the SJP friendly if that's the case.

It's a shame for the fact he wouldn't have cost anything and that would've freed up money to be spent elsewhere. The fact he's gone to Chelsea where he'll end up on their scrapheap in a year or less is even more disappointing. On to the next one. Plenty of ITKs will have mud of their face after this.
