Well that's even better than I thought originally and it's a no brainer then if we can get that done in the summer.

Considering our fixtures, 84% is a lot. I think the way our fixtures are laid out makes me more nervous. Our "easiest" game left being the last game of the season isn't helpful. I don't like the idea of going into the last day NEEDING to get anything, even if it's only a point. I'd much rather have the Everton home game this weekend or next and just get 5th or higher guaranteed.

Doesn't extending a players contract actually work in our favour in terms of PSR? Obviously he would be getting a wage increase though so perhaps the difference is barely anything. But I thought a contract extension spreads out the fee we paid originally over the now longer contract. Could be wrong about this but when he signed for £63M that was spread across 6 years, so that's £10.5M per year. If we were to extend his contract to 2030 for example that's 8 years total so his PSR value goes down to just over £7.5M per year. Like I said, I could be totally wrong but this is what I thought was the case for PSR calculations when players extended contracts.

Chelsea have issues with UEFA though. And seeing as they will be involved in some sort of Europe next season they may have a big fine coming their way. Not that that will concern them very much.

I agree with that. Especially considering we have to play them still so that would mean they only have to lose one game in the other 3. Unlikely, as you say, but I think finishing 2nd is currently more likely than finishing 7th for example.

I don't think this meme quite passes the test here. There's a lot of people saying that. I'm actually okay either way. If we sign him then great, he's very good and he'll fit in well but equally if we don't, there's other options who will do just as well.

Linesman these days really are pointless, almost surplus to requirements at this point. You could just have the Hawkeye system for the boundaries of the pitch and you wouldn't need them at all.

I think we'd be lucky to get even close to £15M considering his injury problems over the last couple of years. Similar to Longstaff I'd be hoping one of the promoted teams looking for a decent Premier League player would take a chance.

I think so, it happened after that whole Cardiff City bollocks or around that time, when the owner wanted to change the name, badge, nickname and shirt colours. They may well have already done some fan studies/research. But if they really wanted to keep it a secret then no doubt those involved would be legally sworn to silence.

We've had a few badge changes over the last 60 years so I don't think it's a big deal for most fans. I would think the club will make a sensible decision about it and at the very least have some sort of discussion with various fan groups and what not before rolling it out.

Out of the three midfielders he's the one you'd prefer be missing but equally he's so instrumental to us it's going to be a big loss regardless. Thankfully there's not many games left and maybe it won't matter, we can only hope.

That West Ham games still irritates me whenever it comes up. They were awful at that point of the season and we rolled over. Losing to Brighton and Fulham is by the by, could happen to any team in the league, they are both very good.

Zero expectations for this. Could lose 2-0 and I wouldn't be shocked. Any sort of draw would be fine. A win would actually surprise me somewhat.

Man City only really have one game left where I think they may only get a draw. Their next game is Wolves and they are on a great run, I think they may pinch something against City. After that though, they'll win the rest. I think 3rd is gone for us realistically as I don't see us winning 3 of the 4 games. I think we'll beat Chelsea and Everton, but who knows what Brighton will be and Arsenal is still a worry.
