  1. It's not uncommon for teams to gently introduce their big money signings in with late brief substitute appearances. It's the same situation with Jermaine Defoe at Sunderland
  2. They have some totally ridiculous conspiracy theories....when Villas goal was disallowed it was because we have paid the Premier League and VAR off. The current Tory government are also backing these decisions and all of them will do anything to keep us in the Premier League. It's like people seeing Elvis in the chip shop all over again.
  3. Happy with a point, three would be great but wont be too miffed if we lose as they are in good form this year the cat kickin cunts.
  4. They're not happy, there's a link on here a few posts earlier. I think when we were managerless and had no idea who was coming in people were happy for Gerrard (lets face it, anyone was gonna be an improvement on Bruce) but once EH was announced I think most people got behind him. Personally I've always hated SlippyG so never wanted him, can't stand the twat.
  5. Just thinking a few weeks back when we were being linked with everyone.... Gerard was linked as possible manager with Coutinho and Dignes linked as possible signings.....ok, we know most of it was media bollocks now..... but if it had of happened we missed three fucking curveballs there!! I bet the Villa fans wished they hadn't let Targett come to us now. They are not happy with SlippyG.
  6. He was fucking immense again today - he's in danger of becoming a NUFC legend!!
  7. Said it after the everton game and still think the same after today...... EH called it right again, Bruno will get his chance sooner rather than later, but I have total confidence in EH to make that call when the time is right.

    Dan Burn

Another brilliant and solid debut from one of the new signings.
  9. It was amazing how much the game/we changed when he went off - just shows how much influence he has on the game.
  10. Apparently the ref was useless, keep giving decisions against them. They reckon he should be investigated. Looks like he has been betting on himself on the number of cards given out in the game. You really couldn't make it up.
  11. Part of the interview process - practical test - can he drive the team bus safely?
  12. Surely not......but I wouldn't put it past them
  13. Just on local news........Alex Neill has been taking the training today, seen in team colours and has travelled with the team.....yet he hasn't been officially announced by the club yet????? Only the mackems.............
  14. Cole was fantastic, especially if you recall he missed quite a few games with shin splints.
  15. I have complete faith in Eddie Howe, always admired the man as a person and his football philosophy and style. He was always my first choice (realistically) for manager. He's already my third favourite NUFC manager after KK and SBR. ...probably because he has KK's offensive style of play and SBR's tactical/football managerial nous. Yes it felt good for the appointment of Shearer, or the second coming of KK or Rafa....... but they were all under Ashley......and somehow we knew he was a fraud pretty early on and you could never get truly excited. But now it's different. We have a brilliant young English manager who is very knowledgeable and Premier League experienced (Europe will be unknown territory - but it was with KK!) and owners who genuinely have a vision, ambition and commitment with sound financial backing. For those of us who are old enough to remember the press conference with Sir John Hall unveiling Kevin Keegan as the new Newcastle manager.....this is going to be even better. For those of us who aren't old enough....enjoy the rollercoaster
  16. We're not safe on paper but i'm not worried in the slightest. We are on the up and we have momentum. More importantly, we now have better players(£95m ffs!!) and the players we already had, have improved, the fans are up for it and SJP is bouncing. I also have total confidence in Eddie Howe, who I have always rated highly. Performances have improved massively since he took over. That's why I'm not concerned about rushing in Bruno - everything is heading in the right direction. He's just another bomb to drop on the Premier League
  17. I'm not too sure or even bothered if he starts against Villa, but if he doesn't I think he will get more of a run out this time (maybe come on after 60-65 mins) or earlier in reaction to the game (goal, injury etc). He's going to be a mainstay for us and it wont be too long before he claims his regular place.
  18. The problem is they are always turning on each other and accusing each other of being Mags...... they really do provide entertainment of the highest order
  19. Like many others I really don't see their infatuation or faith/belief in Roy Keane and I would bet that within 3 months they would be hounding him out. They were the same with Jermaine Defoe - a week ago he was the messiah - now after 2 brief appearances they are questioning why they bought a crock. Nowt as fickle as a mackem.
  20. My apologies, I was thinking more traditionally (thinking of guys like Frank Worthington, Gary Lineker days etc) when Leicester were regularly in the old first division. Maybe if Sunlun had been taken over at the same time as Leicester they would have stood a chance, but I think the gap between the various leagues has grown and continues to grow. Even in the PL there are leagues within leagues and only the big spenders can eat at the top table these days. I don't like it, but going forward I doubt we will see another Leicester breaking that monopoly (although I hope I am wrong!!) Sunlun may do it if they had a good owner willing to invest heavily over many years, but I just cant see that happening. Maybe someone like Ashley would get them up, but they would still be a yo-yo club at best (like Brentford. Watford, WBA, Fulham etc). I think when it comes to generous benefactors/owners/investors with real top PL aspirations that ship has sailed for SAFC.
  21. I have to disagree. I think Leicester are a bigger club than Sunderland. I also think the Premier League has moved on financially since Leicester won it and I doubt that level of investment would achieve the same nowadays. I would also think the infrastructure in place at Leicester was far better than Sunlun's. Their squad is so poor it would need many millions and a good management team in place just to get into and stay in the Championship.....at the minute they can't afford someone to even pick up the litter ffs
  22. I don't think we can honestly class them as "rivals" anymore - they're nearer Hartlepool, Carlisle and Darlo standard. They are however a constant source of ignorance, idiocy and amusement.
  23. Totally agree with this and although the best they could ever do would be a Brentford/Watford type of club (which would require £millions investment) they are years away from achieving that
