There is no point continuing this interaction I’ll leave it there

If you havnt noticed Howes ability at improving players and getting the absolute best out of them then I don’t know what to tell you. JP is a very good player already with a skill set that doesn’t grow on trees, and would have been even better here.

7 years, more money, in London. Time to log off for a few days

Because of his toxic ego

Meltdown imminent Its a follow on of the story from yesterday, let’s not shit the bed yet

I think we as fans would do well to remain patient (lol) as while it would be nice to have a deal wrapped up by now it is still early. We are good at keeping our moves quiet, we only know what has been leaked and then recycled over and over again by the journos because they are feeding off of scraps, this isn’t a bad thing. If we heard about every single up and down of every deal and every line of enquiry that we made so far this summer this forum would probably literally explode.. Theres lots happening, and lots of variables and moving parts as always with football. But that does not always mean that we are being messed around, or a player is angling for a better offer from elsewhere. There’s a lot of reasons that deals arnt struck, personal and financial.

Get the feeling he had a verbal agreement with Burnley that he’d stay one more season in an attempt to get promoted and then would be able to leave without much fuss.

Not sure if posted here but John Duran is apparently close to joining Fenerbache, another player who will have a letdown of a career due to their ridiculous and inflated ego

Very American

I think this is a player who is definitely at the top end of what we could realistically hope to attract this summer, it would be an incredible signing imo. He just opens up so many options for us in terms of formation and tweaks in style. Most of us probably expect him to play behind Isak which is going to be lethal in a 4-2-3-1.

And then you consider Trafford baiting the press and hitting an accurate pass up field.. beautiful

Gotta love how these threads have gone from ‘worrying’ to mass excitement in the last 24 hours

He’s improved as much as he has because he’s played pretty much week in week out in the PL for a season now, he wouldn’t have had that here last season.
-
Availability is usually overlooked, in reality it’s probably the most valuable attribute a player can have
-
No reoccurring muscle or tendon injuries is alright in my book

Yeah I’d agree with that I think. Frustrating for fans but a good thing really.

He played with huge names that he respected and looked up to at Juve, when he went to Man United he then felt like he was the big dog. He possesses an ego that is out of this world and hasn’t shown the personal growth required to mature past that point, shame as with a better head on his shoulders he could have been an all timer.
-
I feel like depth is often overlooked in favour of selling, we can’t continue naming multiple goalkeepers and teenagers on our bench every game
-
Hes really not average. I’ll stick my neck out and say that I anticipate that he’s back in the PL within 2-4 seasons for a huge fee. I think Liverpool will end up regretting letting him go.
-
I think it’s pretty much a given that they will attempt a more pragmatic style than that of Southampton, but if they do start losing week in week out while trying to counter teams my god will that place will turn toxic fast I think they are as good a bet as any to be relegated but it won’t be a record low or anything close to it imo. That squad just isn’t equipped and they can’t spend enough to fix it.

Kind of makes a signing like Pedro all the more important, if having a #10/SS means we can be flexible tactically and deploy 4-2-3-1 then we can take workload off of Joe until we want the 4-3-3 again. We need more effective flexibility with tactics and selection, the 4-3-3 doesn’t cut it vs stubborn low block sides.

This forum really needs a signing
-
Unsurprising to see him linked elsewhere

Away at Villa at 12:30 for the first game is particularly rough
