I think it’s a bit silly to write him off after some meaningless end of season games, those players didn’t look interested at all and wanted to be on holiday. His team selections don’t exactly inspire much confidence but again it’s end of a long season for some players, this guy does know what he’s doing and no doubt rest/rotation played a part. Give it some time. I’d like to see less direct play though, even if the selection is limited in some aspects.

Yep, just agreeing with you
-
I don’t think any team bar City or Chelsea have that ability tbh, there always has to be a form of compromise

Parker got tainted after those 4 games with Bournemouth, think he’s proven he isn’t a bad manager when it comes down to it by now. However if he tries to play football with Burnley in the coming season like he has in the championship they will get dicked most weeks.
-
Nah, he’s an incredible player that would start for any side in the world. It is a lot of money obviously.

These England players started their summer holiday early

Would be a huge improvement to us, a keeper with feet was near the top of my wanted list so I’m hopeful of this.

Double that last season, but yeah I get your point
-
It’s never getting old

IMO in a 4-3-3 Joelinton also starts any game that he is fit for
-
Yep, but that’s kind of my point. Both have already been played out publicly. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love both for the right price.

When I say big I mean Tonali & Isak particularly, although Botman and Bruno happened very quickly to iirc. As you say though, easier to keep it quiet when they come from outside the PL. I know what you’re saying, the way we’ve seen Elanga and Pedro come out just isn’t our style really. They could well both be smokescreens of some description.
-
Same, we don’t usually do this drawn out in the press thing other than Guehi maybe. Our big signings come out of the blue.
-
Holt should have been binned off for that Bruce article alone, but alas we all still clicked on it
-
I’d be disappointed, we’d finally get to the point of having real depth out wide (assuming we sign a RW) only to lose it instantly. If we need to make a sale I think there are better options. Let’s not forget this guy took Gordon’s spot and held it from him.
-
Pedro, Elanga and Guehi although it may seem far to straightforward it would represent an incredible window. Very clean, big upgrades and a massive addition of depth. Pedro alone changes our side.
-
Pedro and Elanga is very solid Howe like business, I personally wouldn’t have a problem with a ~£120m fee outlay between the two. Man our attack looks more fluid with Pedro involved, it gives us much more option to switch it up depending on opposition. 4-2-3-1 with Pedro behind Isak is disgusting. Also hopefully Howe could have better control of this nutter
-
Evolution doesn’t come or go with one signing though, this is going to take time and more players will come and go before we are picking apart low blocks on the regular. We would be ridiculous transitionally with Elanga involved in our current set up, it’ll be fine if it happens.
-
I think this a narrow view you’re taking mate, we’d all love a technically gifted winger who can also give us the physical output that Howe desires but these guys don’t come within the restraints we are currently working under. We can go pretty far with our current identity, Liverpool eventually won a CL with it.

To be fair, every side struggles to break down low blocks. We arnt in a position to build that side right now.
