  1. Anyone who wanted then back up because they "missed the derby" - I hope you stand on nothing but Lego and upturned plugs
  2. How about Chris Mort and Ian Cathro as assistant manager?
  3. Only if he brought Chris Mort back as CEO
  4. Saw an article said that their cash reserves was about $60bn. By no means a small sum but they're not going to use 5+% of that to build us a stadium.
  5. Obviously we'll never know but for me the evidence was there - they scored, they put some pressure on, we lost the plot for 10-15min, they scored again, then when they settled in to preserve their lead we offered very little. Both sides created chances and if it'd gone 0-2 then in all likelihood we'd have seen it out but once they come back to 1-1 it was a repeat of the last few away games.
  6. I think we set up ok initially. I was quite positive on here at half time. The worrying thing is how one goal (avoidable error or not) caused us to completely lose the plot for 10-15min then when things settled down and we needed to respond we showed absolutely nothing. Regardless of Pope's error, I don't think that game was finishing 0-1 and what mattered was how we would respond if they got the next goal. They did and we responded poorly.
  7. Five mad minutes but when we had 40+mins to get something we had absolutely nothing to offer. Same issues really, too passive, no ability to break teams down when we're chasing the game. Really, really need to work this out otherwise this season is going to be a massive let down.
  8. We're absolutely bottling it away from home. Again. I don't even know what to suggest. Spend the Isak money on a team of sports psychologists?
  9. We've been a bit passive at times, probably hard not to once we settle into that 5-4-1 in our third, but we've largely restricted them to half chances. Bit more composure going forwards and we could have had another couple. Hopefully we don't regret that by full-time...
  10. When the draw was made I had a target in my head of 9pts from the home games, one win and one draw away, giving us 13 points and a good chance of progressing to the playoffs. A draw here would be a very good result, especially if we are able to rotate ahead of next weekend.
  11. Rapid, two-footed, 11 goals and 20 assists over the past two seasons and young enough to develop further. I think it's clear what he thought he was getting, we just aren't getting anything out of him. In principle he should suit playing with Woltemade, he'll benefit from balls in behind to run onto.
  12. Clear evidence that he's trying to make some little tweaks which is exactly what was needed, especially in how we utilised Woltemade. Will be a challenge midweek but next weekend is a chance to turn around the away form/performances.
  13. For reference, in the most recent accounts we had; Amortisation £97.5m Salaries £193m Unless I'm reading the figures incorrectly of course
  14. That's great but literally every single person involved in that could be 100% on board - they'd still need a sign-off from PIF for any of it to actually happen. By the sounds of things they're in absolutely no rush to do that.
  15. KI's version matches the description on FH much more accurately than their own mock-up
  16. Presumably what they have as a series of thin, black stripes of equal thickness will actually be different thicknesses as per the Barca shirt.
  17. A couple of snippets from The Athletic's latest article; Full Article here
  18. You've misread or misunderstood, they could have settled for mid-table but have spent the maximum allowed within the current rules to propel us further up (current form notwithstanding)
  19. I think there is strong evidence that they wouldn't have done that. They aren't even looking for or taking advantage of loopholes within the current rules so the idea that they would throw mental money at us if the rules were different is fanciful imo. They've always spent the maximum available within the PSR limits which obviously they get credit for. They could have just settled for comfortable mid-table and the regular PL income. The way they've handled the stadium and training ground also strongly suggests that we are a business investment, not something to just throw money at to take a shortcut to the top.
  20. The fact that nobody is being linked doesn't bother me particularly. I don't think there is a huge amount of value for journalists digging around for info and I fully expect it to be announced out of the blue. It's frustrating that, judging by how long ago they binned Langley, they are struggling to get who they want.
  21. £90+ in todays money, bloody hell! Makes any sort of substantial redevelopment of SJP before then all but impossible but certainly doesn't rule out a new build on Leazes Park - even if they started on that today it wouldn't be finished by summer 2028 anyway.
  22. The young lads doing a great job of showing they're ready to fit into the first team by being absolutely shite away from home
