  1. If Coldplay had any integrity they’d have told FIFA to fuck off with that, it’s a stupid idea. But obviously the milquetoast middle-of-the-road middle-class cunts couldn’t do that. I didn’t arse myself to watch the last two WC finals; feels like I’ve got a reason to actively avoid it this time
  2. He’s our only A based on the definition rules. Phenomenal centre forward, would have a chance of starting in any side in world football. edit: probably could have done with an ‘S’ grade for actual world class, tbh
  3. Targett isn’t finished for me; he’s just a thoroughly mediocre PL LB. He did a cracking job on loan, but he was a baffling signing.
  4. Targett is a 'D' for me. Great loan signing, poor permanent signing - I was surprised at the time that we actually went back to make him permanent. Always felt like a stop-gap
  5. I never went into any of our finals thinking we’d actually win it, tbh. I do distinctly remember the 2023 LC Final hurting far less than the previous ones. Probably a combination of it being the League Cup not the FA Cup, I’m older, and I wasn’t at the 2023 final.
  6. Most Sparta games have adult tickets available for less than ten quid
  7. I've missed having ITKs on here. Welcome, CoreOfNUFC. May your guesswork be enshrined as gospel truth.
  8. There is a reason that Arsenal create more, in fairness. They have better players - and I'll chuck Martinelli into that list. Gordon has Hall behind him, Isak next to him, and has Tonali and Bruno in midfield supplying him - he's got perfectly capable player around him.
  9. It is good to know their identities now, it'll take a couple of weeks for the dog turds I'll be posting to them from Australia to arrive at their address Might as well some assumptions in advance ...
  10. Livramento is definitely faster; so that would be of use. The worry will be Trippier vs Diaz ...
  11. I'd definitely take Martinelli ahead of him tbf. This is at this moment; it doesn't mean I think we should try and line up a swap deal
  12. The PSV side which put Juve out of the European Cup has is getting howked 7-1 at home by Arsenal. I'll take the 'Lloyd Kelly is class because he looks ok at Juve' stuff with a massive pinch of salt. This may be the shittest Juve team in most of our lifetimes - including the side which was in Serie B after Calciopoli
  13. I'd be tempted - the lad is seriously talented. Having said that, I'd still take Gordon. But I don't think it is open-and-shut.
  14. Hmm ... I mean, these are NUFC-only stats aren't they? It isn't exactly telling much of a story. I'd expect that the first-choice left-sided forward would be second-highest scorer. Murphy and Barnes are joint-third, because they're also wide forwards.
  15. Luis Diaz, Son, Gakpo, Martinelli, Trossard at present without thinking too hard about it. Doesn't mean Gordon is a bad player; he's clearly a good one, and he would be difficult to replace. But I'm not seeing what you're seeing re him being a potentially world-class one.
  16. It wouldn't be good news, but we're not exactly short of options at LB. Hall is clearly our best LB and along with Isak and BDB has been a stand out this season in terms of consistency, but the season is hardly lost without him.
  17. That looks like an insane price tbh
  18. He’d need more than one bullet these days, sadly - I wouldn’t trust him to hit the target with one effort
  19. Mind, if I looked like Wilson AND wore the NUFC no.9 shirt then I’d be more in love with myself than a coked-up pop star
  20. I think the first XI is going to come out pretty well tbh - and I’m not sure how many on here would swap our squad for Bournemouth, Forest or Fulham’s.
  21. Heartbreaking this one. I’m oscillating between a D and an E. I’m going to go with E. Damn shame, superb CF for most of his NUFC career. Yes, he was injury-plagued - but a regularly fit Wilson doesn’t sign for Ashley’s NUFC in any case. Still love the lad - I think he wore the no.9 with distinction for most of it (and he was the no.9 even when he wore 13).
  22. Perhaps, though I think the lad has enough to win plenty of England caps. He’s not developed as most of us probably hoped he would over the last year or so - but he’s still young.
